Check Out Mickey!!

Mickey was our first Foster. He was surrendered to Pike County Shelter from Almost Heaven Puppy Mill. He was 4 1/2 months old when I picked him up on July 2nd. He was 7 lbs underweight and so sick with mange, ear infection and kennel cough. This is Mickey when he came home and pictures from this weekend - 3 months later!! Talk about a make over - see what lots of love, food and a wonderful home can do for a Doodle? Makes you just want to cry.
Dana & Mac and Debbie & Mya, who knew him from day 1 with us saw him again this weekend for the 1st time since he went to live with Marissa and Seamus in August. They truly didn't recognize him at first!!

On a side note, a new work colleague was telling me he has a doodle puppy (??double doodle or whatever they call them) and he bought it off Kijiji - this is an intelligent guy with a Masters Degree!! I guess that just proves book smart is not always life smart. I think he'd die if I told him how much we paid for ours from a reputable breeder!

Comment by cheryl & oliver on October 13, 2009 at 5:39pm: wow what a makeover, isn't it amazing what love, good food and a good home can do for these wonderful babies....I have to tell you a neighbor down the street from me got a doodle off of Craigs List, (ugh!!!)..The poor baby was 4 mos old, so skinny, and scared it made me cry....Well two weeks later here comes this roly poly little bundle of energy walking down the street with his new owners...She took him to my vet, got him on the right food, and he is just doing super...My Ollie thinks he is a toy, lol, they play and run around together, of course I have to watch Ollie, he gets too excited with him, but he lets this little guy jump all over him...He is only 2 mos younger, and he is supposed to be a standard Labradoodle, but I don't think so....I just love to see these wonderful babies getting the love and help they need....Cheryl
