Gibson Has 5 Days to Live

Check out this Doodle. Gibson is in a High Kill Shelter in Ohio. Due to the lack of space, if he is not adopted by October 25th he will be euthanized. Not because he is vicious, it is just because there is a lack of space.
This is what the volunteers at The DRC do. We search the web looking for doodles who may be euthanzied and in need of forever homes. We then look for our members who offer to drive, pull from a shelter, foster or transport a Doodle in need to help us. If anyone wants to volunteer to help a Doodle much less fortunate than yours, let me know. We are in need of volunteers all over the country.
Doodles like Gibson is the reason we constantly nag you to vote for the DRC in the Shelter/Rescue Challenge. The more votes we get, the higher up the list we go with the potential of getting money to help more Doodles.
Isn't that what it is all about The Doodles?

I just emailed the shelter again asking if they would surrender him to the DRC - knowing that he has an approved home to go to as opposed to just someone who has no clue what they would be getting into with a Doodle. Keep your paws crossed!

Just followed up on Gibson this morning. Lady said that no one has come forward to adopt him yet, (still have till Monday) but that there are about 12 people on the list waiting to adopt him! She said he was a very popular guy!

It seems so unreasonable and unfair to give just 2 days for people to find out about and adopt a dog.

All of my family here in DK that offered to volunteer to foster or pull a Doodle from a shelter, I need you to fill out a Foster Application at The DRC site. Please join - just as you did for DK. On the headings, you will see 'About Us/Applications. Please COPY and PASTE it into an email (big computer issues with Word) to me at

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the responses I got from this blog. It's nice to know that even in our busy lives, we can find the time to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves!
