Coming home...

It was absolutely wonderful to be greeted by our darling Holly and all her Maltese buddies when Judy and I arrived home from our vacation.  We have only left Holly twice in the five years we have shared our life with her.  We both enjoyed our vacation but really missed our canine life partners...

We lucked out in that our son-in-law's mother wanted to spend some time in Southern California.  The dogs love her (she slept with Holly and five Maltese in the bed) and she obviously loves the dogs.  She dog-sat/house-sat for us when we took our 2010 trip to China.

We are very fortunate to have a friend like that!  That was a win-win situation. She provides care for her grandson in Austin, Texas and his dad was taking him on a trip which freed her up to free us up. 

I missed Holly the most when I saw a Goldendoodle being walked in Athens, Greece.  I was on a bus so I couldn't even get a "doodle fix!"

There is something a little depressing about coming home after the holidays but NOT if you are greeted by a Doodle and other friends :)
