Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Since Penny the WonderDog’s passing in June, this home has been a lonelier place.
It’s been amazing to watch Biscuit mature a rapid pace, as if she realized that it was up to her to be the “big dog” now. She has enjoyed all of our attention, but has missed having a buddy to romp with and love.
DH began talking about adding to the family last month, saying it would be nice to have a second dog again.
I thought, “Too soon… too soon…” My heart is still tender from Penny’s passing.
But he kept pressing… gently, but pressing. :-) I tried to talk to him about a rescue, but just couldn’t get him to agree (for many reasons, too complicated to get into here). Sometimes, you just have to pick your battles.
Three weeks ago, DH sent me a link to a local breeder. Surprise, surprise, the breeder had a brand new litter of three Goldendoodles. I agreed to visit the breeder under the agreement that it was ONLY to check her out and see what kind of breeder she is.
Turns out she’s amazing. And the moment she brought the last available pup into the living room, DH was a goner. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, along with the little video. DH has had some very serious health issues over the last few months, and the way he lit up when little pup began giving him kisses, I knew it was the right thing to do.
So… it’s now three weeks later and we will have a new member of the family on Saturday! We don’t know what we’re going to name this sweet little girl yet. Laurie, Fudge and Vern think that "Gravy" would be the ideal companion name to "Biscuit," but I don't know. :-)
Stay tuned for all the news that’s fit to print…. And more photos than you can stand.

Oh the love of a doodle puppy. Your DH looks so happy with your new girl :) I am so happy for you guys. I know she will not replace Penny ever, but she will take another big place in your heart...right beside the spot that Penny has filled forever!!!!
The video is wonderful--they are definitely in love!
Aw she is just precious!
Oh she is adorable......Congrats on your new little sweetie.
Since I am from the south...How about Honey for a name...nothing like
Biscuits and Honey...yummy LOL
OMD! This definitely made my day. My "heartdog" Hondo died two years ago and his little (younger) brother was so devastated that he only laid at my feet and did not even look out the window. It was terrible for me and terrible for him. I started looking around for a new sibling for him and within a week I had an Australian Labradoodle from Texas. He was an overaged puppy (12 weeks) but worked out perfectly for us. They have been best friends from the moment Groucho Too laid eyes on Harpo. It really does make a difference to a dog who has been raised with another dog because they will step up to a new role, but they really need another dog to fill the void. We will always have two dogs (or maybe more). I'm sure you will really enjoy this new little pup and it will make such a difference for Biscuit. ENJOY!
congratulations on your member of the family. We too lost our dog of 15 years on May 31,2012 and waited this long to fall inlove again with our newest member of the family Freddy. He looks alot like yours. Today he is going on a motorcycle trike ride with us. He loves his new harness and bag for the ride already, we couldnt get him out of it. Ron and I are happy to hear of your new puppy, just know that we are going through the same stages too and wish you the best. Its love at first sight isnt it? Theresa
What a way to start my day with this lovely news! So excited not only for you but especially your DH; he looks enchanted!
And for the record, as if it would count...not, I LOVE the name Gravy! Or even Gracie. Close enough to make people stop and listen but "girlie" enough for that beautiful doodle face.
What happy news and such a sweet girl - so cute!
I am so happy for all of you!!! Biscuit and Gravy...what could be more perfect.....LOL!! Your pup is adorable.
So happy for you guys. Hope that she does wonders for DH's spirit and that the joy returns once again with a double doodle household. I'm sure Biscuit will be a wonderful big Sister!
