Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

There are some upsides of being unemployed. I have taken the last 2 weeks to savor some well deserved down time. I have to admit that it was a bit of a transition to go from working 55 to 60 hours a week with 24/7 oncall to loads of time on my hands. But I have figured out how to use some of that new found time. I have been able to complete a lot of those weekend projects that were 95% done. I have been able (at least before Harlow came into heat) to take the pack to the dog park daily. Because of the dog park visits, I have met a lot more doggie people in Roswell. My house is staying cleaner; anything that sits still for more than a few moments get dusted. The never-ending pile of laundry needing folded has finally disappeared. All the dead branches and sticks have been picked up in the back yard. I am rediscovering the art of cooking. A business plan that I have been kicking around for a few months is starting to take shape. And best of all I get to spend more time on DK.

As Einstein said, "Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom." I now have the freedom.

I wish you a speedy connection to a new job, with enough time to enjoy the time off.

I LOVE not working and if I were independently wealthy, that is just what I'd do. But such is not the case and I am spending hours a day looking for a job. BUT many more hours a day playing with Murphy. Just got done grooming him. Took 3 hours, scissor cut all over. He was great the whole time. Lots of doodle-bonding time going on in the Unemployment World.

I know just how you feel, Nina! I was laid off my part-time job back in October! Ah, the freedom to indulge in Doodle Addiction! LOL

I know what you are talking about. I have over the years had a few occassions when I was between jobs and it always made me wonder how I got everything done when I was working. The only thing that always disappointed me was whenever I was working I always thought man, if I didn't have to work I would go to the gym every day ..... but somehow, I never found that time when I wasn't working either! The only thing that was a real drag was it was always hard to really enjoy the time because I was always worried about finding the next job, or being money conservative because I wasn't working. Now that I am permanently not working I am busier than ever (I think these doodles have something to do with that). Try and enjoy your time off!
