Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
It is a spectacular 75°F day here. We were driving to our local farmer's market when from the car I spotted a puppy exactly like Ollie. We stopped the car in the middle of the street and met the other shocked owner. It turns out that it is Ollie's sister who lives in the same town as us. They look so similar that it is crazy to see :-). We and the other owners were thrilled too! The puppies started playing right away and the girl puppy's owners were very friendly and nice so we've planned to get the puppies together again for a proper play date. I can't get over it...one Ollie is more than cute enough but 2 of them together was cuteness overload. Here's a picture taken with a cellphone camera. Wish I had a better camera but hopefully there will be more!

Now this is even more amazing that you would run into Ollie's sister when you didn't even know there was a possibility. I would probably never "run into" Murphy's brother and we live a mile apart! Not to mention his brother is cream and Murph is apricot. Not nearly as similar are your two. They do look like twins. And I asked my breeder once if she thought the siblings have a sense of familiarity with each other. She said probably, but that they wouldn't know that they were related.
Have fun, you have found a life long friend for Ollie.
Wow!! Double the cuteness.
We had a similar happening. Sedona's littermate was in our Puppy 1 training class. What makes it an amazing coincidence is that the breeder is located in another part of California and that in the San Jose area, tons of puppy training classes are offered (including many much closer to Rosebud's home). Sedona and Rosebud recognized each other instantly and the reunion was terrific fun. In fact, the teacher (trainer) made us sit on opposite sides of the room for the entire series of classes!
@Sue...Our breeder had mentioned long ago that another family from our area was also looking at puppies from this litter but I never followed up and it had pretty much slipped my mind. I'm always on the lookout for other doodles for Ollie to play with and haven't had much luck with doodle spotting except for a standard golden doodle unfortunately with a fairly uninterested owner. Running into his litter mate like this was incredible.
@Shelly...I'll send some warm weather vibes your way too! :-) I am very thankful for it since we wouldn't have moved out of the house and met Ollie's sis if it hadn't been for this warm day.
