Dare I Double-Doodle???

I'm pretty excited about tomorrow, but a little nervous! We will be babysitting Fozzy Bear's brother Murphy this weekend! Did I mention he out-weighs Fozzy by 36 pounds??? No kidding - when Fozzy weight 47 pounds he weighed 74 - I believe he is now at 86 lbs!

Fozzy has really been lonely since Boomer has been gone, I think this will be very good for him. It should be interesting anyway. Murphy has not had any training yet, so going for walks should be pretty comical to the rest of the world.....I imagine I will be icing my shoulder when we get home. I have the feeling we will be spending a lot of time at the dog park this weekend. I really wish we had a fenced yard now.

Funny thing happed at the pediatricians this week. I took Zach for his lung function test, and while I was checking in the woman next to me said - "Oh, I know you, I have Shelby, your dog's sister!.......I saw your name on your chart and recognized it! " So, now we have met more members of our extended family and plan on getting the pups together for a play- date!

That is so sweet. Many of the DK members have stated the same experience. I wish, I wish, I knew who had Spud's siblings.

Ned seems to recognize his siblings even if it has been a year since they met. When he sees them, there is no "warm-up, let's get to know you" time. They immediately break into play. Have fun and get a Halti for Murphy so you can get to and from the dog park gate.

That is so wonderful. Many days I wished for another doodle, but I know we are not ready. Envious that you get to have a house quest. That is the best of both worlds. Enjoy

Wow...they are going to have fun! Peri recently got together with Astro (on DK) - Astro is a standard doodle from the same breeder and they are only 1 week apart and totally remembered each other. Inseperable! We had a date planned tomorrow, but Pere Bear still has her cold and I want to be cautious.
I agree 2 dogs (or doods!) are better than 1, but for us we waited until one was well behaved and semi-trained (lol he won't even sit for me but is only 7 pounds).

They haven't seen eachother since the end of March! I'm guessing once I get Fozzy trained, we'll be looking for another dood to keep him company, unless I just start a babysitting agency for the large litter (11 in this litter)! Hey, now that's an idea! I cannot wait to see how they react to eachother. The last time the they got together, it was 6 of the boys - and clearly, Murphy and Fozzy had a bond - they were inseperable!

Fozzy is going to love having Murphy around!!! How long has it been since they have seen each other? I think it is just amazing how much dogs like having a friend around.
