What a wonderful surprise!

Today, as I was preparing dinner, and assuming the tears for the day were done, I opened the mail. Inside a large envelope was another smaller envelope and a piece of white paper. On the lower left hand corner of the most wonderful black paw print ! I just started bawling. I opened the small envelope there was a sympathy card from my vet with a beautiful note. I was also informed that my vet had taken a paw impression when they put the catheter in his leg on Saturday, and it was ready to be picked up at their office!

I just thought that was a wonderful idea and so glad they did that for me. I wish I had thought of it to make one myself and for each of my boys.

Aww Chris-I have not been checking in much lately on DK so I missed your earlier post about your beloved Boomer. Our dog Buddy died one year ago yesterday and I held the footprint we got from our vet in my hands and blubbered most of the day. Now after looking at those pictures you posted of your sweet Boomer-I am back at it with the tears. It is sooo hard isn't it? Just awful really. The only thing that helped me was when a friend sent me this quote; "The pain of losing him will never ever be as great as the joy of knowing him" Take care, Debbie

Our vet's office is soooooo wonderful. They alway go the extra mile for you. They are expensive, but they are worth it.

I picked the impression up last night. I walked into the breezeway, and didn't miss a beat as I reached the door, I fell apart and turned around. I thought I could handle it, but I needed a minute to gather myself together.

What a heart warming jesture. I could cry for you. I would of cried too. I am so glad there are dog loving people out there that have the love in their hearts as we do. I hear too much of "it's just a dog". Cherish that paw print forever !!!!!
