We decided to change things up and by the Duck and Oatmeal formula of the brand we buy. Just to keep things interesting for Darwin. He's done well on every other formula we've tried, so we weren't worried. Well, for the past week or so he's had horrible gas, bad diarrhea, and nasty breath. We haven't switched treats at all so I can only guess it's his food. Poor Darwin is kind of miserable and I'm sick of the gas (actually EVERYONE is sick of the gas), so we decided not to use the rest of the bag and go get his usual lamb and rice. At least we know what to avoid from now on!

It's the first time a food hasn't worked for Darwin and I have a new understanding of all those people who have had to throw out food for one reason or another. Such a waste... oh well!

Clancy has gas whenever we switch anything. We suffer through it because we have learned that it will end = but in an RV - no fun.

Boutique stores are usually very good about returns for good reasons. Give it a try.

It actually wasn't from Petsmart. It's Holistic Select, from our local dog bakery. We decided to switch to Blue Buffalo, but we had already bought the bag of Duck and Oatmeal, so we decided to use it first. After he got sick on the duck, I decided to wait until his poop and stomach were back to normal before switching him and bought a smaller bag of HS Lamb and Rice, (his usual) then gradually we will change over to BB. So we are now in the process of slowly changing him over to BB. We do have the receipt so I'll have to see if they will take back the duck.

Shelly, it is possible it's the oatmeal. We have never fed him a formula with the oatmeal as the main ingredient. It's always been rice...

Shelly may be right. My Pet Supplies Plus store will take back anything with a receipt. If you just exchange it for a different flavor rather than asking for money back, Petsmart shouldn't have any problem with that. They send it back to the manufacturer or distributor, the same way a store would send a defective item back.

Poor Darwin! You know... Tori did not do well when we had her on Chicken with Oatmeal... cold it be the Oatmeal? I'm almost sure PetSmart will take back dog food. Hope a different food helps him to feel better real soon!

Those ducks are getting their revenge, though! LOL

Our local shelter doesn't accept open bags of food. But it's possible one that is a little further away does.... I'll have to check. And Karen, how did you know, he actually enjoys chasing ducks. LOL. Luckily he's slow and gives up after a minute or two, so the ducks are safe!

Poor Darwin. I hope you feel better soon, and your friends and family get some relief, lol. From now on, you'll have to restrict yourself to chasing ducks and not eating them!

I gave the dogs a little bit of scrambled eggs one sunday morning. Then the whole family 2 kids, 2 dogs, + 1 kid friend got in the car for 2 hours to go to the lake.... needless to say it was a LONG, SMELLY ride... no more eggies for doggies:)
