Well it's day three and Cooper's second full day at home and, I have to say, things went really well... maybe even too well! I am nervous that this may be the calm before the storm ;).

First things first. Last night Cooper was bouncing off the walls before bed. This guy is definitely a night owl... which is fine because I am usually up late doing school work. I was a bit nervous putting him to bed as I thought he'd still have too much energy (even though we played fetch for a good 15 minutes). But, he went to bed with MINIMAL whining. I still have him on the crate on top of the crate but will put the small crate in the big crate tonight to make the transition. He settled down almost right away and, are you ready for this, slept until 8 a.m. this morning. I woke up and looked at the clock and could barely believe my eyes. No accidents at all!

I was back to work today (from home) and was a bit nervous about how it would go as I didn't want him going nutso while I was on a conference call. I took him for a bit of a walk before my first call and he was a good little guy and napped in his pen with the door closed (love it!). I expected him to have energy mid-day and even scheduled in some playtime and a walk before my next set of calls but he was SO TIRED today. He's pretty much slept the entire day with the exception of a few play periods (10-15 minutes of fetch and other independent play a few times in the day). I started to worry that maybe he's sick... and then I remembered that he's growing like a weed so I hopefully that why he's been so pooped.

He also got his first taste of rain. At first he was a bit scared and then he went crazy in it and started pouncing at the air and rolling around. He was a bit of a mess but it was sure cute to watch.

Overall I am declaring today a complete success. No work interruptions, no accidents, and he's really getting used to the pen. Wish me luck tonight when I put him in his big boy crate. Tomorrow we go to the vet!

He is so cute and what a good boy!!!  The sleeping is normal - they grow so fast at that age that I swear you should be able to hear those little bones stretching.  Enjoy!!!

Congratulations! Sounds like a completely perfect night and day. I'm in awe that he slept until 8 am. Puppies do need a lot of naps during the day.
