Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My friend (I think that is still the proper term) picked up a "free puppy" at WalMart Monday, saying she couldn't resist and was afraid of what might happen to him. Her husband was furious because she is terminally rescuing something. She brought the little guy in and asked me to keep it to "save her marriage". Much to my amazement, he looked like a "solid black Murphy". Took him to the vet, got his first shots, worming etc. With the web feet, her guess was a labradoodle or a Newfie and 8 wks old. This guy even has the same laid back personality Murphy had as a pup, especially apparent after being around the Weimaraner pup
I don't need or really want another puppy. Black dogs are not my favorite. My back porch and stairs are now in the middle of renovation, meaning all I have is a ladder to the back yard. Not the best plan for a new pup..
My other issue is that I am now a "doodle snob". I know if I get another dog, it will be a doodle. And I don't know what this little guy is. There is one other person definitely interested, but everyone who sees him falls in love (makes me think he is a dood). He looks like a little black bear.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone...just struggling here.

Hi Jim,
Was thinking about you today and came in here first thing but I see no news! What the Doodle is going on today??
woops, I just saw Karen beat me to it... totally think he's a schnauzer
I also love the names Jimmy and Wally. They both suit him. Maybe you can combine them and call him Jimally, or Wallimmy... ok maybe not.
I googled giant schnauzer puppies and the images look just like him. I bet that's what he is.
Why don't you make a pro and con list to help you decide what to do?
Pro: He's ridiculously adorable
Con: ? sorry, I can't think of any...
"Fin" (s) to the left, fins to the right and you're the only girl in town!
Ok, I don't know too many Jimmy Buffet songs, but I looked it up and here are some names I suggest from some of his songs:
Gumbo, Sailor, Tiki, Elvis Presley, Boomerang, Ace
I like Walley. Great name. But Linda is a Parrot Head :) As long as she does not name him Capt. Tony, I've good with that!
Certainly, as large as he is suspected to become, you would never have to say, " Where's Waldo" very often.
