Does your Doodle know how you feel?

My Labradoodle Houdini was very perceptive, when I was upset stressed or sick he always knew. He would be right by my side to comfort me. I thought it was because we were together for so long and he was very special. When he passed and we got our new doodle a golden doodle named Achilles I did not expect him to be as perceptive. My mother just passed away and needless to say I was beside myself with grief. Achilles was right there. He cuddled with me and stayed right by my side. Is this my imagination or do they sense our troubles. Or am I just the luckiest dog owner in the world?

You are lucky, Achilles is adorable and has this look in his eye that is so cute. Plus, love the windsurfer look. I am so sorry about your mom. Goldens and labs (I don't know about poodles) ARE sensitive and both my labs were of such comfort to me through the years when life's downs would have get to me. You and Achilles will have a special bond after this and I think he will watch and wait and root for you to get better.

My condolences regarding your Mom Anna! You are lucky to have another great pup to keep you company and help console you. Both of mine read my feelings so well, they have been there for me whenever I have really needed them. Give Achilles a big kiss from us for all his help, such a good boy :)

I totally agree with you. Guinness reads my moods better than anyone else in the family. He's the most "sensitive guy" I've ever met. It's also been interesting because we have a new baby in the family, and whenever that baby cries Guinness gets so upset. That's when he goes into heavy duty "Doodle Kissing mode" which the Mom (our daughter) isn't too thrilled with. I'm very sorry to hear about your Mom. I understand what a sad time this is for you. I'm glad you have Achilles to help you through it.
