First Home Clipper Cut!!!

Some of you may remember Tara and my adventures when I attempted to scissor cut her awhile ago. The cut turned out pretty well but it took me 8 days. Yes, eight!! And that was just her body!!

Following the sage advice of my DK friends, I have since invested in a pair of Andis Clippers and combs. DH and I clipper cut Tara's body this Saturday and I trimmed her face and legs yesterday and today with scissors. This was INCREDIBLY faster!!! Much less wear and tear on both of us. AND DH did ALL of the clipper cutting part (involved a power tool!!) which was AWESOME!!

Results are mixed. Here are some photos before bath and like with the scissor cut I am counting on the curls to come back and hide the boo boos here and there!! There isn't much symmetry in her face and the ears are not even.... and on and on. BUT I think it is a good first attempt and hopefully with practice we will see some improvement. :) In the meantime I will be following her around with a pair of scissors...

Thanks everybody!!! I'm glad you like my chain saw... err..I mean..ahhh...CLIPPER cut :) It was pretty wild for a while with DD running that monster machine over me and DM stuffin' me full of kibbles and cheese!! That was the best part though and the cheese was pretty much why I decided to stick it out!! Someday I hope to have long flowing hair like Cooper. Right now my BF, Bandy has longer hair than me!! :( I guess I have the sporty look like Gracie Doodle! :) All in all it was not too bad of a deal. I guess I'll let them try again sometime..as long as the cheese holds out anyway!! Hee hee! Gotta go back to sleep now and dream about havin my picture taken with Bandy...

I think you did a great job! Better than I do on Cooper, though I keep her pretty long still (2 or 3 inches in summer and let her grow to about 6 inches in winter), My scissor cutting leaves her very uneven, but I kinda like the scruffy look (thankfully)

Gracie - no we don't have photo together but it is a dream that we will. mommy has tried but has no good software (whatever that is ) to put us together!! Of course the real dream would be realized if we were thousands of miles apart... good thing me and Tara like to sleep a lot so we can "frolick" in our dreams together - and Gracie, my sissy Rosey would love to play ball with you sometime!!

Oh Tara you cutie pie. I can now see why Bandit is so crazy in love with you. You are adorable and you and Bandit make the perfect couple. Is there a photo of the two of you together??? The haircut is just fine. I love it. It does get better and easier each time. I have been cutting Gracie for close to two years now. The first year I never when near her. I too started out just like you did. Tons of questions on DK, watching videos, observing grooming through windows and finally the nerve to give it a try. Both Gracie Doodle and I are happier for it too! I just can't get over your cute little face. It is sooooo sweet and makes me smile!!!
