Thanks to my DK family for letting me vent and keeping all of TN in your thoughts. I just wanted to follow up with a photo of my best friend's house and neighborhood. There are thousands of families going through this EXACT same thing right now. It is an odd feeling looking at piles of insulation and drywall outside of people's homes. My husband spent every day with them getting counters out, drywall removed, etc...

You will notice one of the photos has a tree mural in a bedroom. I had painted that for my best friend's nursery. Her baby boy is only 2 months old =( But they are rebuilding starting next week - saving receipts and hoping to God that FEMA comes through!

My friend Cassie is an avid dog lover - has 3 rescues that they were able to save from the floods. Had to get baby out first, came back and dogs were swimming in 4 feet of water!

Photos to enjoy/hate/whatever!

This is so terrible. I'm glad your friends and their dogs are safe at least. Still sending thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this; thank you for keeping us updated, Allyson.

So sad to see that kind of devastation. Hopefully their life will be back to normal in no time. It has to be so hard to be uprooted and your personal belongings lost. Sending lots of prayers and positive vibes down south!

My prayers go out for all of those who have lost so much. It hurts to see how devastating all of this can be.

Wow....so so devastating. Amazing what can happen in such a short time. I was thinking recently about "what would I do if we were in a flood?" How would I get my baby and dogs out?" Not sure it's something one can plan for, but it would be awful.

Heartbreaking and happening all over. We've had floods in parts of NJ this year, too.

This is so sad to see. It must be horrible to lose so much. At least they were all safe, including their pets.
