Floyd has a cold!!!

We now have a 5 1/2 month old puppy. It seems like yesterday we were just entertaining the idea of having a dog and now we have had one for over 3 months! Time is crazy that way. And with time comes the fun puppy development stages! Floyd has been losing teeth consistently now for just over 2 weeks (we've found 3 teeth so far!) So, he's been cranky, tired and not wanting much to eat.

So when he was lethargic and not eating a whole lot last weekend we thought he was cutting another tooth or maybe about to lose a tooth until he sneezed. He kept sneezing all weekend. Then a cough here and there. I took him into the see the vet to make sure he was ok and it turns out he has a minor upper respiratory infection! He lungs are clear and his temperature is normal, thank goodness! He is on a 10 day course of antibiotics and has to stay away from all dogs for at least a week. He's going stir crazy not being able to play! Loosing teeth, being sick and not being able to play. It's almost too much for one puppy to take but he's been a trooper through it all, though we are all looking forward to when he can play with other dogs again! 3 more days!!!!!

Floyd is MUCH better and has 2 more days of antibiotics. He hasn't shown any signs of his infection so he was cleared to go back to day care yesterday and play. He had a ball and we had a happy tired puppy. He's back today and then I think he will take a break for the rest of the week. It's raining and cold here in Southern Cal so I don't want to push it with him just getting back on his feet!

Floyd is doing much better! He still has a little sneeze but his energy is much better. We are half way through his 10 day course of antibiotics and by Tuesday afternoon he will be in the clear to play with other dogs! He is SO ready to play with doggies! Thank you all so much for your concern!

Awww, poor baby, get better Floyd, it isn't easy being a puppy, and not being able to play and feel good, but I am sure that in a just a few days you will be your old happy puppy self...Take care my friend....Oliver
