Fox is developing a half hour sitcom based on the Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan and backed by the one-note mediocrity star power of Wilmer Valderamma.

Although the plot points have not be solidified, Wilmer will play a character who has made a fortune based on his skills as a dog trainer.

While both Valderrama and Millan will have titles on the pilot, we cannot help ourselves in thinking that this will go the way of That 80's Show!

Will U watch Wilmer "sssshtch" animals for half an hour?!

WOW That is a great article! It really shows the "proof" about his training methods being questionable. There is a Cesar Milan debate on DK - it should be posted there. Thanks for sharing that!

There is a Cesar Milan debate out here on DK somewhere... you do not realize how many people find his tactics questionable until you look into it and educate yourself as to why.

Ok, I happen to really like Cesar Millan. His philosophies on dog mentality make sense to me and are compatible with positive reinforcement methods. As to his actual training...well that's what makes him a dog whisperer...he knows the signs to look for and when to react; the lay person probably shouldn't attempt rolling a dog over to make them calm down, but what's wrong with "setting rules, boundaries, and limitations?"

As for this sitcom...Erm. Are they planning on mocking Cesar Millan? Are they planning on having dogs do outrageous things that he has to deal with? I'll give it half a show's chance...maybe...and then I'll switch to Dog Whisperer...

Much of Cesar Milan's training methods are contrary to what is considered acceptable. Many people (including the ASPCA) have issues with his methods.
