Many of you have watched our Rose grow up on DK. I have posted about her sock eating and T.P. shredding incidences and have shared numerous pictures and videos (most recently her birthday party) of her growing up.
Rose was our pick of the litter and has brought us so much joy. We have adored her and enjoyed her antics. She is amazingly sweet and well socialized. We had high hopes of adding her to our breeding program, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. She would have been an amazing mom, but fell just short of passing one of the several tests our dogs must pass before breeding. Both my vet and the specialist feel that she will live a normal, healthy life as a pet, but doesn't meet the high standards set to enter our breeding program. She was spayed, recovered well and is back to her old self. :o) This has presented us with quite a dilemma. We love Rose so much and the thought of letting her go is very hard, but she has so much to share and we feel it's best for her to let her go to a pet home. I have been in no rush and have waited for the right family.
Carole and I have been DK friends for over a year. We have shared stories and pictures. She is a very special person and I have loved watching Gaston-Cramer grow up. When she found out that I was considering letting Rose go to a new home she immediately contacted me. I was very excited about the possibility. They have unending love to give and their dogs are treasured family members.
So.... in a couple months Gaston-Cramer will get a sister. They are so much alike and will have a blast playing in Carole's dog park, also known as, the back yard. :o) They can't come get her until April, but I may drive her to them.... I've always wanted to visit NC and can't think of a better reason! I'm thinking the transition may be easier for Rose if I take her and stay for a couple days. The details will all work out, but I am pleased to announce that Rose will be going to live in beautiful NC with, Carole, Gaston-Cramer, Madison, Bindi, oh and her husband and kids too!! :o)
It'll be very bitter sweet for us, but all dogs should be as lucky as Rose. :o)
