Gave in to the cute puppy dog...

So we have had Sammy for about 7 weeks now. Seems like he has been ours for longer than that though. Can't quite image not having him! He is our first family pet and first dog and it has been a whole new experience for our family. I have 4 boys ages 11, 7, 7, and 2. One of the twin boys prompted the purchase of Sammy --he has been asking for a puppy or dog for well over a year but I was waiting until the baby got bigger and I felt ready and could make a time commitment to a puppy. I liked the idea of a puppy more than a dog just because I liked the concept of having him grow up with us. Now I have read so many wonderful rescue stories about older dogs, that I can see going that way as well some time in the future.

Anyhow... the rule has been - "No dog on the furniture" since we got him. We have a leather couch and I just didn't want to deal with scratch marks. But I gave in today because he was just sitting at my feet with his face on my knee looking pathetic so I decided to let him up. Grabbed the camera because I know you all like pictures -- but he is a black dog and indoor shots do NOT turn out well.

Luckily my husband doesn't pay much attention to the pictures and doesn't read this website so he won't realize I let the dog up... tee hee :)

Had that rule too. Didn't last long- it is hard to resist. Sammy is just adorable. Love his pretty shiny black hair! Just love the black color. Enjoy!

First of all, Sammy is so beautiful....who could possibly resist. I know, I had that rule at one point too. Little by little...the Doodles have won me over. They are just too hard to resist. I like that towel under Sammy. That's not going to last long...soon he'll be "shaking" it and considering it an awesome chew toy. Wait till your husband is is sitting on the leather sofa and Sammy jumps right up on his lap. That's when "your dirty little secret" is over. LOL You're a good Doodle Mom, and he has won your heart. Join the club.

He is adorable. I love, love the blacks. My childhood dog was black so black dogs always bring back such special memories.
