Today we said goodbye to a dear friend: our beloved border collie, Cass.
Cass had been fighting a good fight but the bone tumors took over her body and quality of life. We were originally going to wait another week but Clark realized today was the day. She got her favorite meal of a cheeseburger and fries before we said goodbye. We buried her along with Thule's ashes this evening.
Cass joined Clark's life nearly 15 years ago and had been a most loyal and devoted friend. She was the dog that turned me into a dog lover and helped me see that keeping a dog indoors was not insane, but the best way to keep a dog.
We were truly blessed by having had Cass in our lives.
I am so sorry for your loss. We will be facing this event sometime soon. You have been through too much this year. I am glad that she was the dog that showed you what dogs should be. With out her we wouldn't have this site. Imagine one dog and how the world was changed.
Oh Adina. I am so, so sorry. Thinking of you and Clark and sending positive thoughts your way. You have had too much of this lately. I hope Rosco is doing okay too.
What a lot of losses in a short time between your human and dog family. Loss unfortunately is the down side of giving our hearts away. Life would be very sterile and empty without the joy that having loved ones bring, however. Cass was very fortunate for having all of you as a family. She also was very fortunate that Clark knew when to let her go to avoid having her suffer. I am sure all of you including Rosco must miss her terribly. I am thinking of you all.
