Maddie, the hunter was at it again.  This evening she came to the sliding glass door and I let her in only to see a small baby animal of some kind on the step. I couldn't tell what is was without looking really close which I didn't want to do.  I call DH to get rid of it while Maddie went into the livingroom.   I  took her to  familyroom downstairs  Then I see her drop something.....another baby.  I call DH to get this one and take her back to the kitchen .....Gross.   THEN.....as I walk around the corner into the living room/dining room I see TWO MORE babies. she had left on the floor.  They were dead but DH said they were still warm.  Double Gross.

Little did I know when I let her in that she had dropped the only the 4th newborn bunny she had in her mouth.  She had carried them gently brought them  into the rooms like she does her toys and socks.  I wish she would stop bringing "gifts" and you would think the stupid rabbit would know better than to have her babies in yard with a doodle.

I think the correct spelling is Stewpid Rabbit.

Thank goodness DH was home, I couldn't deal with that. She just loves helping the bunnies! Too bad they aren't making it though. Get that Rabbit a different room!

Hi, Maddie, Porter here.  Do you want to go out?  Ya know, a hunting date.  Really.  As friends.  I swear I don't have a thing for your pretty hair and bows.  I like your bunny killing technique, that's all.  Uh huh.  I'll show you mine.  Technique that is.  I eat all but one bunny and then play with the last one.

I agree with F. It's nature, Darwin's theory in action. (The human naturalist, not the doodle)

Survival of the Fittest. The mother is too stupid to locate her nest in a safe place, the stupid genes don't get passed down.

Poor bunnies!  Is there some way to disinfect our dogs' mouths when they get stuff like that? I like to kiss my baby Bexter (he gives the BEST doodle kisses), but you wonder where their mouths have been.

I feel your pain.  If you figure out how to get her to stop let me know.  Maybe it will work for my snake hunters.  It would be hard with bunny since they are cute.  Sorry you have to go through this.
