Halas Gets a New Ride

I was 2 years into a 3 year lease on a very nice Lexus ES350.  I took it in last Friday for the oil change and tire rotation, and I got the new RX350 as a loaner.  I decided that in a year, when my current lease was up, I was going to buy a used RX.  I was putting too many miles on this car to justify leasing my next one, and the new RXs were too expensive for me, so I'd have to go with a used one.  I mentioned this to my salesperson (I've used the same one every time I've leased something there), and she said they were really looking for used ES350s.  The earthquake/tsunami in Japan has really limited their new ES inventory, so the demand for used ones has spiked.  She was able to get me a brand new RX (2 years newer than my ES), more expensive with more bells, whistles, and gadgets than my ES, bump the mileage up to 15,000 per year instead of 12,000, all with the same lease payment that I had before. I didn't have to think about that for very long.  I love new cars, so a newer car for the same payment sounded OK to me.  Sorry for all of the boring car details. Anyway, I just picked up our new vehicle today.  I think Halas will like it.  It's an SUV, so it sits up a little higher, and we'll have more room in the back for our flyball trips.  We have a flyball tournament this weekend, so we'll be able to try it out.  It's not an overnight trip, because it's pretty close to home, but it should be pretty nice.  Halas rides in the backseat with a harness, but it will be nice to have room in the cargo area for his kennel.  When it's nice out at the flyball tournaments (not too hot), we'll sit around outside, and the dogs can hang out in their kennels in the cars.I've also always had cars in the red or silver to black family, and this one is a really light blue metallic, so that's a little different for me.

That is a great thing getting a new ride! This sounds great for Halas. We test drove the lexus electric suv when we ended up buying the cadillac instead. The electric part really interested me. Is yours an electric gas model? We ended up getting the cadillac as it fit me much better as a driver and passenger than the lexus. I have joint issues so that was more important to me. The lexus was my second choice. We had some concerns about he batteries as they said that they don't last as long in cold Canadian climates.Then the recalls all came out after we bought so we felt good with our decision. Ours is used as we can't afford new. It has tons of room for all the dogs

That's what I WANT!!!  DH and I are waiting for another year or so (no car payments = NICE) then I am looking at the RX.  LOVE IT!  Always have. Good for choodle (T and Peri) and potential human children one day....

Hey Halas! Now we have the same doodlemobile, except yours is newer! (And you got the color my mom really wanted!) Don't you love it? I can't wait to see you and the new ride at the romp, maybe I can help you break in the new RX, my feet are bigger than yours so I can get more mud all over the upholstery!

Congrats on the new ride!!!!  Don't you just love the Lexus brand?  I had the large sedan for 8 years and it still looked brand new, went to the GX 350 in March and I just LOVE it.  I went larger so I could get that 3rd row of seats (we get company) here in Florida.  We are lucky to have gotten what we wanted - they really are starting to have inventory problems now due to the earth quake.  Post a picture, we'd love to see it!!

I will have the same doodle mobile for a few years to come (an SUV)....still looking good and I love the no car payment. We drive our cars into the ground. DH's last ride was 16 years old.
