and look at the First Snow. I’m not too thrilled about this. It’s cold out there, and with the door open, it gets cold in here. Trav is acting like the snow is some dangerous white beast that appeared overnight and laid down all over his territory. He wants to look at it without having to walk on its back. He did venture out for a quick pee, but hurried back inside, whirling around at the door to make sure it wasn’t following him. It’s going to be a long day.

Ohhhhh....what a brave boy! Discovering the white stuff is on BOTH sides of the fence. The horror, the horror...

Hi, Shelby! You are one brave Dood! My snow has frozen leaves under it, so it's NOISY along with being cold. I just can't take those kind of risks.
Your nervous pal,
Traveler

Hi, Camilla! Wow!! That's a lot of snow! Portland would be at a complete standstill, we have panic here if there's an inch. :) Being a Montana gal, that was quite a surprise at first. I feel for the Gorgeous Dood Darwin. I'd be saying Eeeek too!

Hi, Nina! That's exactly what Trav does. I can understand a little hesitation, in case there's a monster out there, but he really wants to just keep on standing in the doorway, half cold and half warm, preferably with me standing there too. :)

We've already got over a foot and a half and it's still snowing! Darwin is nervous because when he squats to go his bum actually touches the snow. Eek! We've been pretty desperate trying to find more shallow snow.

Hi, Tara! I'd LOVE to come out and play with you! Sure looks like you're having fun, and my mom is being mean. She won't let me stand in the doorway and she made me stay in the kitchen while she changed the sheets on the bed. She said she really didn't need my help. WTD?? I think I need one of those 'contract' things like Boca has.
Wishing I was there,
your pal,
Traveler

Hi, I live inSan Francisco. No snow here, but it can be very cold (it's relative!) and my dog rings the bells for me to open the sliding door in the kitchen. She stands there with only her noes outside of the door. And, inside of the house, the heater is on. I always open the door to the bells, but when she just stands there I feel frustrated.
This happens prior to peeing and pooping as well. I don't know what she thinks is the backyard, but she's very cautious.

He was sooooo funny this morning--looking out the glass door like he couldn't believe his eyes. He'd trot away, then go back to look some more. The whole world had changed! And that was before he ever went out and discovered 'cold.'

His real First Snow was last winter, but he was just a baby then.
