Lucy and Sophie here! It's been a really busy, HOT summer and Mom was behind with her yard work. Can you believe that it is almost the end of July and she still hasn't brought in new Mulch for around the trees. We don't care so much about how it looks, but we do love to get a mouth full and spread it around all over the yard (hummmm, could be why she needs to remulch). Anyway, there are weeds, and some were getting pretty big, so we thought maybe, since it was probably our fault anyway that we would help Mom pull the weeds and then maybe she would bring in some new mulch. So, we got busy ... we have pulled the weeds, but still no mulch. We are hopeful though!

I'm just laughing right now and thinking we're all a little "wacky", but it really is fun. If I end up in "the home" at some point, I hope I can bring the Doods with me. LOL

Sophie - I do that with my aunt Lucy, the cairn terrier. She chases me around while I do zoomies in the backyard, usually with a mulch piece or stick in my mouth. She can't catch me! Hold on...mom's coming in and wants to say something...

Allyson here - when I read these back to myself I am glad DH doesn't see them too. He might put me in the loony bin LOL

Hey everyone, Sophie here! Thanks for stopping by to read our blog. Lucy is taking a nap so I decided to come in here and see what everyone had to say.
@Lady Peri .... You know what we do with the mulch is I grab a big ole piece and take off running cause I know Lucy will chase me! That is really fun because she is slow and I can out run her. Occasionally I'll slow down and let her catch me!
@JD, yo man, Japanese beetles, we hate those things. We have them here in June and we are so happy that they are GONE! Yuck! @Murphy, don't be eatin no Japanese Beetles, those things are nasty! You know what Murphy, I know you were thinking about fixin us up with Guinness, but we were talkin and thinkin you know, you are awfully cute yourself, and well there are 2 of us, and 2 of you and well, you get the picture! Callie, girl you gotta share some of that Pine Straw. Sounds interesting, we don't know anything about that. Hugs to all of you. Thanks for stopping by and reading our blog. This will teach Lucy to take a nap!

Gee Lucy and Sophie...y'all sure are good helpers! My mom and I live in a townhouse and while there isn't a yard to help out in but I really love when the landscaping crew comes in with fresh pine straw. Pine straw is the BEST. I like to tinkle in it AND I love how it sticks to my tail. I frequently bring it inside with me. It doesn't taste very good, but I do think it add to the decor of the joint. Mom doesn't seem to agree...she's always throwing away my collection. Maybe one day my mom won't care about upkeeping a house and move somewhere where I can pull weeds too. A doodle can dream, right?? Doodle Hugs, Callie.

I'm sure I'd LOVE Japanese beetles. I think I love Japanese food....I never actually tasted it, but it smells really good. I'm thinking Japanese beetles are Japanese food, right? I hope they're slower than flies....

JD loves to party! Murph, you work out the travel arrangements with Lucy & Sophie and just let us know when to expct all of you. We will have one big Par-tay!
BTW, Murph, the flies are almost all gone now. How do you feel about Japanese beetles?

Aunt Karen, can Lucy & Sophie come to your house at the same time I'm there killing the flies? I really want to meet them in person cause they're really "hot" (in a really nice, pretty way). It looks like they're hard workers too. Does JD like to party?

Please send Lucy & Sophie here when they are finished helping with the yardwork at home! I have tons and tons of weeds that they are welcome to pull! In fact, I will pay them!
Jackdoodle is not interested in mulch or weeds, so he is no help at all in the yard. In fact, he doesn't even keep the rabbits away. The other evening, he stood on the patio gazing around while a rabbit sat in the far corner chewing away. I had to point it out to him.

Hey Lucy & Sophie,
Murphy here....Guinness usually gets to "blog", but today I got here first. I really like the pictures of you helping your Mom with the weeding. I really hope that means a new load of mulch for you. I LOVE mulch. My Mom says it's bad for me, so I have to sneak it when she's not looking. I hide it in the side of my mouth and don't chew or anything until she's not looking. I think she's on to it now though...lately she does a full "mouth search" before we go inside. I don't know what the big deal is....mulch is yummy, right? You're both really pretty...I wish we lived closer so we could get together some time. I have a brother I could fix you up with. I like to call him "shorty", but his real name is Guinness. He's a nice guy, but not as much fun as I am (my Mom says he's serious and sensitive). Gotta run now, ladies. Guinness is heading for the computer. Keep up the good work!

Lucy and Sophie ~ I love weeding the yard at my mimi's house. She sometimes gets mad when I yank out rocks between the pavers though :) I like mulch too - do you like to just chew on it? I do. Sometimes I get in trouble for that.
Have a fun day!
Lady Peri
