Okay, I am a first time doodle owner and my Cally went in for her first grooming today and I was horrified when I picked her up. I only took her in for a sanitary cut and asked them not to touch her face....not only did they touch her face...they shaved it! I specifically told them she is a doodle to and they gave her a poodle face! Needless to say I am finding a new groomer. They also completely shaved her rear end.... The poor girl is even embarrassed, at least she acts like it.

It really is unfortunate because the groomer was at my vet and I love my vet, they are amazing but I will not be taking Cally back to that groomer

Will post pictures soon!

They did a nice job.

The first one was the bad grooming and it looks better in the picture actually. The second one is the good grooming and they did her face although I said not too but I am glad they did because who knows when I would have okayed it, being so scared from the last one. The second one she actually has the doodle face!

I wish I would have taken a full body picture but I have a fun one that I will get off my phone tonight

Do post a pic of Cally after you pick her up.  I am excited to see her.

It will grow back, probably too quickly.  I really suggest you do your own grooming if you have the time and the inclination.  We have always groomed our doodles and it is very worthwhile.  You can get just what you want.

I found a wonderful new groomer and I took Cally in this morning and he had me write on a note card everything I wanted so hopefully she does well this time and they do what I want! Fingers crossed!

Poor Cally. I know exactly what you mean about her being embarrassed! We used to have our Golden shaved in the summer and she was always embarrassed for the first several days. We decided with the doods to now do that. I have had them groomed a couple of times, and even though they look cute - they look too much like poodles. I am going to attempt to learn to do them myself. Besides not having anyone else to blame if they don't come out like I want - I can spend the $180.00 (total for both of them)  every 6 weeks on equipment.

Oh dear.  Hate to hear another grooming disaster. I, just went through it with Finnley
(see profile picture) Face shaved ! However, it's really not the end of the word. Get a new fancy collar for her, and be patient. It will grow back. Definitely don't go back to THAT person for grooming though.

Oh no! That is my biggest fear about taking Beowoof to a groomer. I've been doing my own trim work so far. Just the belly, rear, face and feet. I'm working up the courage to do the first clipping myself. I groom all of my schnauzers but I am scared to death to mess up my doodle baby. :-)

The good news is that it all grows back!

Oh Dear!  It will grow, as you say.  Perhaps she had some mats?  why her face, though. You will find the right groomer next time.
