How could anyone kill a four year old doodle?

We are fostering Sophie who is a beautiful, well-trained and loving labradoodle who will not turn four years old until near the end of July.  Sophie developed bladder stones and her owners dropped her off at a vet and told him to put her down because they dis not want to pay for her surgery.  Doodle rescue Consortium, Inc. paid for the surgery and we are fostering this darling girl until she is well enough to go to her "furever" home.

Sophie is a darling girl in all respects.  She was starved for affection when we picked her up and there were a few times when she snarled at Holly because she thought that Holly was recieving affection that she wanted.  However, the tiff was not serious and Holly and Sophie are doing great together and now that Sophie has just about recovered from her surgery, the two doodles play great together in our yard.

hank you for saving this beautiful doodle...If I live to be 100, I will never understand people, why would anyone tell a vet to put her down because they don't have the money to do surgery.  I know things are tough today for a lot of people, but why not contact the different doodle orgaizations and ask for help?  Or ask the vet if maybe they have a payment plan, or something, but to put her down, Ugh, I have no words...I hope Sophie finds her forever home with a loving and wonderful doodle family...And again thank you so much for helping this beautiful baby....
