Hudson's first vacation

My family and I just got back from Mackinaw Island and we have 3 doodles but only 1 could go with us!! There was no room for any more with the kids and all our stuff. We choose to take the younger doodle with us, he has had all his shots so this was good for him to get out, and to see new things. To my surprise everyone kept coming up to us and asking if he was a labradoodle=) Yes they were right only 2 of them thought he was the kind of dog the President has. Anyway, I knew how busy some of the streets were and I didn't think it would be a good idea to walk him with all the people. He is not that great of a leash walker just yet, and I didn't want to carry him at 20 pounds and I didn't have a doggy backpack for him! The only thing I could think of for him was my daughter's stroller, lol and guess what it worked. he liked it hahaha. I can't tell ya how many people laughed about it and thought it was the cutest thing they ever seen. When we got around to less of a busy area he walked with us he looked so happy smiling all the way. We had great weather and a good time. I'm so glad he was a good boy. I told the other 2 they get to go next summer not to worry, I think they forgave me when I gave them their treat I bought for them on the trip=).

I'm definitely going to check Mackinac Island out as a potential trip with Halas. But I think it's going to have to wait til next summer for us. It's about a 9 or 10 hour drive for us, so I'd want to go for more than just a long weekend. I want to take a trip with him this fall, but only for 3 or 4 days, so Mackinac is out of the running for this trip. It sounds like you had a great time. Think of the fun you'll have next year when you can take all 3 doodles!
