Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We are currently being pounded by Hurricane Igor, tons of rain and lots of wind. There has been a lot of flooding and some roads are washed out. Several communities have declared states of emergency. The main highway across Newfoundland is closed due to washout conditions. So far we have not lost power but that is likely to change. We are totally ok where we are and the only problem we have is minor. I always take Quincy out on a leash to potty and today I tried sending him out on a long leash so I wouldn't have to go out, he wasn't having any part of that so now we have a very wet doodle and a very wet doodlemom. In the grand scheme of things if this is our only issue, it's all good. I guess we'll be making the fewest number of trips outside as possible.

So sorry to hear of your mess but at least it's all fixable. The loss of life is always sad. Hope all of Newfoundland recovers quickly.

Good luck with your clean-up. I hope the damage is minimal.

Glad the worst has passed Donna. Keep well. We will be keeping a good thought for the rural Newfoundlanders.

It appears hurricane Hugo was just getting started. We usually only get tropical storms by the time they reach us, not so this time. We lost power shortly after this post and things went downhill from there. We have some damage to trees and our fence is down thanks to a fallen tree. We have a small generator so we were able to run some lights and the TV. I almost had DH to get the computer connected but that was a bit of a stretch. We have a large salt water fish tank that we had to keep the temp up in and keep the water circulating in so that took priority. The rest of Newfoundland took quite a bashing. Many communities are totally isolated and have no access to emergency services due to road washouts. There was one man who was washed away in flooding when the end of his driveway collapsed.
We are very lucky to have gotten away with just the minor damage we have. Quincy was great during the whole thing, no wasting time outside and no being a pest inside. Now it is clean up time. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hope the calm after the storm has arrived and there was not too much trouble or loss for anyone.

Hopefully this will pass through fairly quickly. I know it's no fun for you or for Quincy. Think of the bright side...you don't have a puppy who has to "pee" every twenty minutes. BTW, Quincy is a real cutie.

Stay safe, Donna! And Quincy, hang in there buddy! JD hates to go out in the rain, too!

Darwin absolutely loves the rain, but I don't like cleaning his wet muddy fur up after...

Poor Quincy.
