Thank God we now have a finished ensuite accessible shower!!! Today we went up to the dog park with Neely and Jazzie. We went through the bush area, jazzy stayed on the trails with me Neely ran criss cross all over the place. It was a nice day and a nice walk jaz was really enjoying. Neely was loving it and spent the time from the bush into the creek. Mud up to his butt then back into the bush. The bush has these weeds that have little green seed pods with two little prongs that cling into the coat. They are not easy to get out either. After a couple of hours of wrestling and playing at the dog park we went over to the ball parks were we were also volunteering this weekend. When we were done and cleaned up we all loaded up to go home. So home into the newly finished shower/dog wash. In we go to get scrubbed down. It isn't bad enough we have to pick out these pods that are left behind but what do I find! Bubble gum in his back paw. All entangled into his webbed feet. inbetween his toes the whole nine. Now he is good at staying put in the shower. He just stands there and seems to like it actually. but being held standing on three legs like he was a horse being shoed wasn't his idea of enjoyment any more. So I sat down in the shower to get a better grip and work this stuff out. I got right into the cursing and swearing to any and all bubble gum chewers. I was so peeved and focused on getting the job done that I didn't realize that I had sat my fat arse down on the drain!!! I looked up when Neely tried to get away from my tugging and pulling and saw that my bathroom was flooded!!! So up I got shut off all the water and tried to grab the mats and mop up things. Then Neely figured shes out of the shower so I must be done. So out he goes. But I hadn't wrung him out at all. So he was not only wet he was saturated!!! So he walked out into the bathroom into the only dry section and decided to do his spin cycle. The walls and ceiling as well as the flooded floors were covered in water. I screamed he bolted out of the bathroom and through the just cleaned house spreading his wet paw prints and drips all through the house.
I am blaming bubble gum not my bubble butt!

Oh wow, did you have a day! Funny as heck if it's not you, but I'm sure you'll laugh about it in a few years. You might want to submit your story to Hollywood - would make a great sitcom episode! One thing for sure, life is full of adventures when you live with a dog!

Peanut butter has been my saving grace! (I have 4 ...yes count em *4* sons.....yep sons all of em boys - no girl at all!! lol) I wish more things worked as good as crunchy peanut butter on gum. It just dissolves the gum. Remember when you were a kid an popped gum in your mouth while there was still potato chips stuck in your teeth - dissloves the gum like that - lol! And real smart about sitting on the drain! LMAO!,,

Too funny, but not right now.....maybe later.....after the mess is gone from your house and your mind. Sorry but the picture in my mind is hilarious.

Well I must say that this is alittle better than when my youngest son was chasing the big kids around the barn and they jumped over the edge of the manure pile and his little legs didn't span that far and he went in up to his waist.
They were both just as cute though!!! After the cleanup!

NOT a good time! Ice works if you can get him to hold still for it, but peanut butter also works - however it could add to your mess if you can't keep him still!!!! I think that this will make a hilarious story down the line, just not today.

LOL Lorraine, just when you thought a job well done. Suggestion next time.."hopefully not...but..."if there is a next time try ice on the gum after your done bathing him and he is dry. The ice will freeze it and not as messy to remove it, and you sure won't flood your home. I wished it had worked on Honey when she got herself into paint, but the only thing that removes rustoleoum paint is mineral spirits and you can't use that on a dog. At least Neely does not look like a bare doodle...lol.

You've encouraged me again to avoid dog parks though I'm lucky to have a big, fenced yard. My dogs get these tiny, green seed pods in their coats which have to be picked or brushed out. i think they are from a certain weed which I've tried to eliminate. With the rain we've had in the northeast it's like a jungle out there.
