I couldn't decide where to post this - since it's a teacher AND a doodle thing so here goes.  I have a wonderful student teacher who is able to finish my sentences, pick up where I leave off, we often say the same thing at the same time etc.  We are just in sync!!!  I also have co-workers who love their dogs as much as I love Bodi.  Today at lunch during a grooming discussion, my student teacher very meekly said, "I just don't really like dogs. . .I didn't know how to tell you."  We ALL gasped!!!  And then began to tease her about her evaluation which has suddenly changed from superior to average! haha!  She lives on a farm and has always had outside dogs.  Quite a different life than Bodi and all of the doodles I know on DK!!!  I'm sure this young lady goes back to her college dorm every night talking about the crazy dog lady she has to work with!!!!!!!!!!!  (If I could bring Bodi to school I bet I could change her mind!!)

I am teacher and I want to tell you first "Congratulations" on having such a great student teacher.  I have never had a student teacher before - I have control issues for one thing. LOL. I do not like the idea of someone else teaching MY class that I am responsible for, but also am worried I wouldn't get a good one.  I am POSITIVE she would change her mind if she met Bodi.  Tell her that Bodi is not a dog - he's a DOODLE.

Kaytlin - I DID bring my doodle to Summer School for a short visit, but during the school year the administration says NO. :-(  (no administrators there during the summer - haha!)

And to all of you, I DID change my in-laws mind about dogs.  At first they told me he would have to be crated at their house . . . .now he is almost loved (not quite, but close!).  My mother in law loves to give him treats and I've actually seen my father in law pet Bodi!!!!  There is hope for the student teacher if I can just get her to my house! ;-)

is there no chance you could have a special "meet a doodle" workshop for the student teacher kids

You would definitely change her mind if she got to know Bodi. Today, a friend was telling me that her dog alerts her that she is getting a migraine before the pain starts. This friend used to have cats and told me once that she never wanted a dog because they were sycophants compared to cats. I just smiled as she gushed about her dog. People don't know until they let them into their lives and hearts, I guess.

I think people who grow up with outside dogs don't develop the same relationship with dogs as those of us who have indoor dogs. My son-in-law did not like dogs or want a dog, but my daughter got her way and they now have two dogs and he is always looking for another one. It just takes the right dog to make them come over to the smart side...LOL!!

If they say they don't like dogs they have never met a doodle.

I once had a lady on a therapy visit to a local hospital say when I asked her if she would like a pet visit, she declined and just followed it up with "you know, I'm just not really a dog person" ..... but as I was walking out of the room she did say "but she is a really cute dog".

Well, I have a daughter who is a teacher, so let me start by saying you are SO lucky to have a Student Teacher who is that in sync with you.  As for her feeling about dogs, I'm sure you're right....she just needs to meet a Doodle!
