I'm Liking This Thing Called "Vacation"

For the last week now Mom and Dad have been on vacation. I think it's great because I'm never alone and I like having Mom and Dad around all the time. We've been hiking, whale watching, gone on picnics and swimming. My Mom laughs at me because I only like going in the water up to my belly, she says what good are webbed feet if I don't like to swim. I love doing all these things and I'm usually passed out by 8:30pm. I've met lots of new friends and I think I may be a little bit of a celebrity because people recognize me before my Mom and Dad. I've been a really good boy and have gotten to go without my leash when we are hiking. I did take one little detour into some black mud but Mom just laughed and said you can't hike after it rains and have a clean doodle too. I overheard one lady say that I must be old because I was so well behaved, she was really impressed when Mom told her I was only 1 1/2 yrs. My Mom has been taking lots of pictures and I don't mind having my picture taken but enough already. Dad said he is going to hide her camera because we are always having to wait for her. I think he was joking. I did have to get brushed today because Mom says matts don't take vacations, I sure wish they did. Mom said I'm one really smart doodle, I get cheese as a treat when I get brushed and as soon as I saw Mom get the cheese out of the fridge I went downstairs and got on the grooming table and was waiting for her when she same down. It made her laugh. I just wanted cheese. After dinner we were out playing fetch(my favorite thing) and I suddenly surprised my Mom and Dad by dropping the ball and going over to get in the car. Turns out I was really thirsty. Dad had to get some water from a nearby house because I had already drank what was in the car and I was really, really thirsty. I must have drank half a gallon. Mom says I'm going to be up all night peeing. Mom is typing this for me because my paws are so big I keep hitting the wrong keys. I'm stretched out on the couch and she is sitting on the floor. My Mom says " what's wrong with this picture"? Oh no! not more pictures. Gotta go now I'm getting tired and I gotta rest up for more vacation. Eight more days Yipppeee!

Oh boy do I miss Newfoundland...visited there many times but not for about 6 years. what a great place for a doodle vacation...the friendliest people on this earth, they are. Have so much fun quincy! Thomas will be jealous when I tell him about your hiking and swimming.

Oh Quincy ~ You are such a lucky dood! You get to go all over with your mom and dad.. I can't even make it to the groomers without doing the 'unmentionable' in the car. You are an inspiration to me (and you're YOUNGER too!) - I wanna' be so good too - just like you! I'm trying, but just between you and me - I think my mom needs more practice at training me. she says it's just like kids... you always want to do 'it' better when you have the next one whatever that means... maybe she's thinking of getting me a brother or sister! What great folks to take you on a trip! My mom used to take me away for the summer, but I just got a baby sister and my mom doesn't know how fly with the 2 of us, so this summer I had to stay home. Thank you for sharing your trip and if you need a friend to go with you, I am sure my mom will lend me out....."NO I WON"T....what are you doing Shayna?"..gotta, go, my mom is watching.....

What great pictures! Quincy, you are one gorgeous and handsome Dood. I wish I didn't live across the country from you because I know we could be an "item"!!! The vacation looks like so much fun. My trip to the mountains with my parents has been postponed because of my fox tail surgery. Time is running out and so it probably won't happen until next Spring or Summer. Hey Quincy! we want to go on another vacation sooo bad. My mom really wants to take us to TX but it's 22 hour drive, and she won't let us fly. Your mom takes great pictures, our mom is always snapping photos, even when we sleep! Good thing you are being such a good boy!! Hi Quincy! Wow, it looks like you are having a great vacation - and you still have 8 more days! Lucky you. Your mom takes great pictures! We really like the one with you and Shirley, Verna & Ruth!! Hi Quincy....sounds like a great vacation. Your Mom says you're being a real good boy on your vac....Murph and I not so much. HaHa! Our Mom wants to know why you look so clean....she says we're filthy. We think it's fine to be really dirty on vacation, but it's grossing Mom out. We won't go in the water over our heads either....not even to get the ball. We make Mom get it when it goes in the deep water. Have fun over the next 8 days! Guinness
