I have gotten so accustomed to people admiring Callie when we're out and about that I've found that I'm mildly offended when people don't comment upon her adorableness. Does anyone else feel that way?

This is so funny and timely. I get so many ohhh's and ah's over toby and his good looks that i'm spoiled (he just loves everyone, he doesn't care if they compliment him or not). However, going thru a drive thru window the other day, the young man said "my that is a goofy looking dog!" I was so offended, I nearly drove off without my stuff. I find that when people are mean about things, especially my dogs, it brings out the meanness in me. I wanted in the worst way to say something very snide like "have you looked in a mirror lately" but then I remembered who the adult was (me). I just thought, it is your loss, that you cannot see the beauty in every dog, and you were never told if you have nothing good to say, etc....

Yep... we always get compliments :) Doodles are just too cute for their own good :)

I know what you mean exactly! Everywhere we went, we got TONS of people stopping to pet Darwin and ask about him. Then, we cut him down to an 1/2". I recently went to our outdoor mall with him... no comments. Nobody stopped, nobody wanted to pet him, nothing. It really surprised me that fur would make that big of a difference. I know it grows back, and I know how wonderful he is, hair or no hair!

We met a fellow DK-er at the park today (Maxine and mini GD Scout) and if people aren't stopping Scout everywhere, it's criminal. I don't know that I've ever encountered a happier dog...it just RADIATED from him. Callie can be a little aloof with people when other dogs are around, but Scout managed to charm all people and still play her furry little tush off!

Not only do I feel that way....Guinness does! He simply doesn't allow people to walk by him without stopping to comment or pet. If people ignore him in the store or as we're walking in the neighborhood, he walks right up to them (and I let him) and sits right in front of them until they acknowledge him. Nobody gets away!

Our Sophie is such an attention seeker! So many people stop to pet her and ask questions, that I swear she is offended when people don't stop to pet her ..... it is like she turns around to look at them as if to say "Hey, you didn't stop to pet me". I thought I was crazy and just imagining this until one day instead of DH, my mom went with me when I took the girls to the outlets shopping and mom was walking Sophie ...... all of a sudden I heard my mom say "I think Sophie is offended that those people didn't stop to pet her" and both Sophie and Mom had turned around and were looking at these people that just walked past them. It is funny because people usually prefer one over the other and if it happens to be Lucy that is getting the attention, Sophie will actually jump over top of Lucy to get in between Lucy and whoever is petting her like "Hey, what about me".

As for Lowes, that is our home away from home. That's where we go when we need exercise and it is yucky outside. We go to about 5 different ones in our area and just about all of them know Lucy and Sophie. The managers have even told us to be sure and bring them back that they love dogs in the store. Many of the employees know them by name. Some days are crazier than others and it can take us forever to get out of the store. I think in our case some of the attention comes from having 2, and their being litermates but so different, people always have a million questions.

I don't know how I'd feel because this has never happened to me; people always comment on how handsome Jackdoodle is! LOL

I am in that number!
Its a little crazy down here the day before the Super Bowl. We were out today in our best Saints gear- me in black and gold and Murphy in his new Shockey jersey doing his best Shockey imitation. He probably posed for 15 pictures. But ONE person didn't think he was absolutely adorable. I'm sure they must be blind, or a blatant dog hater or a COLTS fan. lol

Yes---I feel so dorky admitting it but YES! I got so used to people occasionally stopping their cars to ask "What kind of dog is that?" that a couple times someone ONLY wanted directions and said NOTHING about Rosco and I thought "what is wrong with their EYES?" LOL

Yes, I am like that too. I am used to people asking all kinds of questions and saying how adorable or gorgeous they are. It's happening less and less. What's wrong with people?
