Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Before any of you think we're totally crazy, we know that there's no such thing as a "Snicker-doodle" but we think this classification fits him perfectly! Since no one can tell us what he is except freakin' adorable, we have mutually decided that he HAS to be a "doodle" and what better kind of doodle to call him! He just is SO sweet and we want to EAT HIM UP!
To give the new ones on here some background info, this is our 3rd foster for DRC. Her DH says she's my "partner-in-crime." All I know is that "partnering" makes the process less scarey and a lot more fun! Last September, we pulled Leah, a beautiful labradoodle, who I fostered and found a perfect forever family for in Austin. In December, we pulled Norman, a sick aussie-doodle, that she fostered and found a wonderful forever home for in Frisco. NOW, here's CARTER!! This time, we're doing it together since we both had upcoming obligations over the next few weeks. Carter doesn't mind one bit -- it just means there's more people to love him! Besides being a "snicker-doodle," he's also a LOVE BUG so the more love the better!
We really wish Carter could talk to tell us "his story" because the story that we know just doesn't make sense! Why in the world would someone dump this 'lil beauty in the least desirable area of our community?? Who could drive away with this face in his or her rear-view mirror?? He was picked up by our animal control on May 7th and sat in a run for 10 days before I was told about him. This is what I found last Thursday:
After sending a few pics to Jeannine with DRC, we were told "WE WANT HIM" and Libby and I started making our plan! We now know this about our 'lil friend -- he's 18.5 lbs, about 10 months old, heart-worm negative, parasite- and worm-free, and 100% adorable! He was flea-infested, but after a couple of rounds of flea dip at The Grateful Dog dog-wash, he was good-to-go!! He is so good-natured and doesn't know a stranger! Our vet does not believe that he was "on the street" long -- he's just too clean. I suppose that he had to be go thru a "rough" patch to make us way to us and most importantly, to the DRC and ultimately his forever home! Oh, did I mention that he's housebroken?? Well, he is!!
Here are a couple of pics to show you how well he has adjusted to our dogs...
Guinness and Carter at Libby's house and...
with Knox at my house! Yea, we think he's one well-adjusted puppy!
You just have to agree with us...this is one of the cutest fosters EVER! Our little "Snicker-doodle" will soon be listed and we just know that his forever family is waiting for him. Thank you, Jeannine and Jacqui, for letting Libby and me help Carter find them!
P.S. If you want to see more pics, just let us know! Our cameras are full of them!
HERE ARE A FEW NEW PICS OF THE LITTLE GUY!! If you think we're trying to tempt you, you are exactly right!!

Oh yes he is TOTALLY ADORABLE. Snickerdoodle is a great designation. Is that what you are calling him? Do you name fosters or let their forever families do it?
Good luck little boy! I really hope his forever home is someone one DK, I really wish it could be mine.
Little Carter is getting neutered in the morning!!! Wish him luck!
He'll be one step closer to finding his forever family...
Libby or Doris, Keep him...he is so darn cute :)
Still the cutest little Snickerdoodle ever! In some of the pics he looks almost white but in others, like the 2nd new one, he seems to have quite a few apricot highlights. Is that correct? Love the one with the ball and his little paw up! So sweet!
Has he been fixed yet? I WANT HIM!
He is just too cute for words. I love the one of him coming around the corner with the ball in his mouth.
Ohhhhh.....I only WISH!!!!! I look at his pictures and actually get a feeling of physical tugging from the inside! We are a committed "one dog" family. : ( I can't wait to learn about the lucky family!
I live in Virginia and my last foster was adopted by a couple from Frisco, TX. They flew in, rented a car and drove all the way back........I think it's my turn now:) Maybe they would put me up for the night...........I think Karen is right and Carter might set a record in the amount of applications. He is just so adorable.
That portrait of Knox and Carter is just toooooo cute!
