Luna the snow dog

Luna is definitely a dog who LOVES winter!  Her Winter antics are an endless source of entertainment.

You know your dog is a snow dog when:

- When her paws get cold she plops down in the snow, chews the snow out from between her pads and resumes playing

- After a new snowfall, she runs around the back yard like a maniac, digging random holes and "snorkeling" in the snow

- She plays (by herself) for 20+ minutes outside when it's -20 C (-4 F) with no more than some freshly fallen snow and an empty plastic bottle

- She shoves her head all the way into the snow (ostrich-style) and stays there for 5+ seconds because the hole she dug has something interesting at the bottom.  She then proceeds to do the same thing in another spot 5 feet away.

- She prefers it if you throw her ball into the DEEPEST part of the snow in the park so she has to dig it out.

- She intentionally drops her ball herself into deep snow so she can dig it out (over and over and over....)

Sounds like so much fun!  We may have to plan a day trip to the mountains to see what Sedona would do in the snow.  She loved playing on the beach last summer, but stayed clear of the water, so she may not be much of a snow dog.  Heck, I'm not much of a "snow mommy"!  In fact, cancel the day trip!!!

Sadie is also a snow dog. She will stay out when it is brutally cold snorkelling and running and doing the same thing as Luna with her ball.Wish they could play together.

Luna spent 10 minutes this morning sticking her muzzle in the snow then walking forward... making little muzzle "tracks"... starting to wonder if she smells mice tunneling under there and is trying to hunt them!

A snow dog indeed!   I wholeheartedly believe my Shelby would be a snow dog.  We had a light dusting 1/4 of an inch here in Texas once and she loved it!
