Lyric's pregnancy--the last three weeks!

Wow--does time fly! I can't believe the puppies will be here in three weeks! Lyric's appetite has returned and she is eating well now. When she lies down or sits back on the couch, she has quite the little belly on her! It's all very exciting.

We will be picking up the whelping box from our breeder in just a few weeks (she still has puppies that are using it.) We have a house that was built in 1790 and it has a "birthing room"--a small room next to the kitchen (now our living room) where mothers would have their babies and would be close to the big fireplace. We are putting the whelping box in there for Lyric to have the puppies--It's probably been over 100 years since anyone has been born in there!

For now, we just wait and enjoy our restful nights--we may not get much sleep once the puppies arrive.

That is incredible. It boggles my mind how different the gestation period id for different species. Will you allow DK visitors?--just 1/2 kidding.

Wow!  Time really does fly!  It seems like just yesterday you were wondering if Lyric was 'with pup.'  How cool to have a birthing room.  I can imagine the builders being able to look into the future and saying...WTD???  Well, probably not WTD...:)

I bet when that house was built no one ever thought the birthing room would be used to birth dogs...let alone Doodles!!!!  Cool, her very own warm cozy room...hope you have your camera all charged and waiting right next to the box.  We all are going to want lots of photos...ha ha
