Meet our new foster dog, Norman!
I picked up Norman from a local shelter on Friday. He was found under a house early last week & as soon as my friend Doris saw his picture up on the shelter's Facebook page on Thursday, she called me. She had fostered another doodle earlier this year, but was unable to foster this little guy right now because she had already agreed to puppy sit for a friend over the holidays.
We couldn't stand to leave him, so she contacted DRC & they said pull him. I mean, how could you resist that sweet doodle face?! While that was all happening, I was busy trying to convince my husband that we needed to foster him. I told him, "All I want for Christmas is to foster this doodle!" It worked & he agreed, so we started the process. By Friday at lunch I was headed to the shelter to pick Norman up.
Doris had set up a vet appointment for him at 5:00 pm on Friday, so we headed over there together. It sure is nice to have moral support & another set of ears for listening when you go to the vet!
Norman was obviously neglected, so we've got skin infections to deal with, but no heartworms (yea!). He does not seem to have been abused which is a blessing. He's very social & absolutely loves everyone and everything!
This is going to be a great adventure & I can't wait to see how he progresses! For more pictures of the little guy, I made a photo set on Flickr. You can see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/libbydempsey/sets/72157628483337613/
I have also posted this on the Doodle Rescue Collective site!

Norman looks like a sweetie. And, oh, those eyes!
You have some great pictures. Norman is so handsome and will be more so with time as he gets better. How kind of you to rescue him but I think he will reward your care!
Thanks for rescuing this sweet guy. He is SUPER CUTE!
Norman will get to live IN a house, rather than UNDER one! YAY! Thanks to everyone on here for being so encouraging to Libby with her first foster! She's going to be a GREAT foster-mommy! (Her DH, Captain and Guinness are real campers!)
Thank you for fostering Norman, he is just adorable!
A little blue-eyed cutie!! How anyone could neglect/abandon this guy (or any dog for that matter) is beyond me. Thank you for giving him his chance at a happy life!
Thanks, all! It's been great so far. He's so loveable :-)
Nicky - We think he's about a year old, so he's still got a lot of that sweet puppy goofiness in him. Love it!
what a wonderful Christmas gift both for you and for Norman. He looks so sweet. How old do you think he is?
Norman is an absolute cutie pie!! Thanks so much for helping him out of that horrible situation!
