Meet Sheba's Little Sister, Available for Adoption Through the DRC!!

Yep, that's right, we've finally met one of Sheba's family and we are fostering her for the DRC.  Sheba and Brianne share the same poodle mother but Sheba's dad is a GR and Brianne's dad is a Newfie.  Sheba was born Christmas Day, 2008 and Brianne was born July 4th, 2011.  When I got Sheba and Duke I was not very educated about back yard breeders, puppy mills etc.  Thanks to the DRC and Doodlekisses I've learned so much.  Although I do regret doing business with these "breeders" I do not regret for one minute having these wonderful beings in my life.

For the past year I've tried to rescue their mother from this particular BYB.  I almost had her when lo and behold Sheba's mom became pregnant with Brianne and her litter mates.  The "breeder" decided she did not want to give up the mother and couldn't part with her.  Grrrrrrrrr   Anyway, Brianne was returned to the "breeder" by her owner because of health issues and she wasn't able to handle a rambunctious pup.  The "breeder" gave me a call and asked me if I wanted her.  Of course I scooped her up!!

Brianne is a beautiful, sweet puppy.  I would keep her in a minute but DH says we are a two dog family.  *Sigh*  If Brianne is anything like Sheba she will turn out to be an incredibly intelligent and sweet girl.  I'd say she's on her way!  Hopefully her new home will be close enough that we will see her again!!   I'm gonna miss the little (big) girl.

Here's a link to her DRC profile.

Hi, I'm Brianne...

Here I am again!!!

You cannot resist me......

Do we look alike??

Aren't we all sooooo adorable??  I think Sheba is rolling her eyes as she was tired of posing for photos.

Me and my beautiful sister Sheba and my buddy Duke!!!  Do you think  Sheba and I have the same eyes???   They are exactly the same.  Sheba's eyes were closed so my foster mom cloned my eyes onto her.  Lol!!!

I'm a really good girl and I can't wait to meet my new furever family!!

Nancie isn't the Doodle Train a feature of the DRC? I thought it was used primarily to transport doodles from shelters to their foster homes but I am not sure.  But there may be someone in Lima that could met Angela half way which would only be a 3/6 hour drive for each person??

Angela,I think the first step would be to contact the DRC and get an application in with them stating your interest in Brianne and see where it goes from there.  You must have an app in with them before you can be considered for a doodle.

@ Nancie, I've never heard of the doodle train, I will have to check on that! I just can't stop thinking of this precious little girl! I've always been a Newfie fan & with her being mixed, she would fit right into our family with our Wheeler boy! I check out different adoption options almost everyday & she just seems perfect! We want another dog but we also wanted their ages to be close together so that they both have about the same play activity. I know our boy is full of play & I wouldnt want a dog much older than him cause of keeping up with him! Thanks for the info!

Angela...have you heard of the Doodle Train?  There are members here who will get a Doodle to their destination by driving so many hours and handing the Doodle off to another person who then continues the relay to the final destination.  You might want to check into that if you are interested.  I myself would not hesitate to do the drive, spend the night and then drive home with the Doodle the next day.  Check out the Doodle Train or you can always ask for volunteers to help out if they live along the route.

Ann-how great the breeder called you with this beauty! I feel she will have no problem finding a home, these are great pictures and video to show her off! She actually bonded so well with yours that you would never know  it wasn't a 3 dog home (are you sure???) I love the video when you can hear all 3 of them munching on treats! Of course the picture with her and her sister sleeping afterwards melted my heart also!!! You are doing a great job!!!

She is adorable!!  I just sent her link to my cousin, she is a total Newfie lover!  About 6 months ago she had to put her 1 year old Newfie to sleep, he had hip and knee problems that were inoperable and already causing him significant pain.  She was of course heartbroke.  She still has one but she really wants to be a 2 dog family again and she loves Hunter so a Newfie-Doodle might just be perfect for her!
