Motherhood (of a human that is) continues to be a wild ride for me - and better than I could have dreamed. Two months ago, when crying was peaking and I was in a fog, I would have maybe not said this. But even though things are still crazy and stressful, Charlotte's little personality is coming out and I couldn't be happier being a mom to a little human girl!
Charlotte turned 4 months on Monday. We get her vaccinations on Friday and I will discuss starting solid foods with the pediatrician then! OMD where has the time gone? She could actually be using the highchair soon???!!!
As for the dogs, Tacky is doing better - he likes to sit on my lap while I play with Charlotte. He growled a little last week and I just said a firm "NO" and he ran off upset. I think he knows it's wrong...he just can't help himself!
Peri is in love. She is the best ever with Charlotte. Charlotte is not mobile yet, so I know the coming months could pose challenges with her starting to move more, but we will adapt! Just this morning, Charlotte grabbed Peri's ear - I was there and took her hand off and told her to be gentle - ha like a 4 m.o. can get that, but I am starting young! Peri didn't even care - she licked her. I am already using the sign language for "dog" and telling Charlotte that's her doodle sister and chihuahua brother. A parenting goal of mine is to raise Charlotte to be kind and gentle with animals. I think that speaks volumes of an adult's personality. A lot of what I will teach her I have learned on DK. Wish me luck!
Here are two photos. The first is Charlotte on Sunday, enjoying her jumperoo. The second is Charlotte on the playmat a week or so ago, just lounging with sister Peri. Peri just lies next to her - it's wonderful and warms my heart.

I think Charlotte needs her on page. Maybe even her own group. Babies of Doodle Kisses. My look how our DK family has grown.
Charlotte is a Doll! I love the pictures, and the look on Peri's face is priceless :) Thanks for updating, it is wonderful to watch her grow.
It is so great to hear all is going so well. I am 5 months ahead of you with my granddaughter who I see every month. I fly up to San Jose and babysit so my daughter can take business trips. She has her own Rhodesian Ridgeback and then when she is here or we drive up, Gracie Doodle is there. She adores her doggies and they are the best ever around her. Constantly by her side. Here are a few pictures that you have to look forward to. You are doing everything right, just like my daughter is doing. Eowyn just started crawling and chases Luna all over the house and then they lay down together. It is the sweetest thing ever to witness!!
Charlotte is so beautiful Allyson and so expressive. Tacky will come around eventually. I think since he likes sitting next to you when you are playing with Charlotte cause he is figuring out that she is not going anywhere.
Pari, well she is obviously scoping her arms out to throw that ball later. Ha ha
Oh wow, she is big! And what a cutie-pie! The second picture is priceless. Peri surely IS in love. :-)
Your update has me smiling from ear to ear!! What a great little family you have. Charlotte is certainly a cutie and Peri clearly loves her!!
Thanks all! Time is flying by - way too fast, especially being back at work. We are having so much fun - it's crazy, but so much fun! Couldn't be happier with the dogs...even Taquito - he's doing better than expected really :)
I love that first picture. She looks so ready to learn. lol...teach her well! Charlotte will be the only child in preschool that knows that puppy mills are bad and that Purina and Iams are junk. hehehe
