Riley is accustomed to being locked up in his wire crate at night. Occassionally, I will just put him in his room and shut the door. It isn't too long before he is barking and putting up a fuss. He has to be put in his crate with door shut, before all is right with his world. Go figure!

Sasha is a girl who loves her crate too!!
She goes in her crate when we are out for a longer length of time...and...she happily sleeps in her "beloved" crate at night!

Oliver loves his crate too, he goes in in everynight after playing with us on the bed for a few minutes. and he will bark till you close the door to the crate, lol, then he takes all his "babies" and puts them in a pile near him and goes to sleep..So go figure, lol...We have tried to just leave him loose, but he wants his crate, so who am I to not give into that, lol, he is very spoiled, lol...

Banjo LOVES his crate too. Typically he goes in there anytime after 7 at nite and will even pull the door closed with his paw. I lock it before going up to bed.

Tara is the same way! We have tried several times to change her sleeping arrangements from the crate to a dog bed (both in the bedroom). When not in her crate at night she just seems lost and confused. If we leave the crate door open most of the time she will go back in it on her own. Usually around 8:30 to 9:00pm each night she will start asking us to put her into the crate! She is READY for BED and the crate IS bed!! She has been sleeping in there since she was tiny so I think it is her safe place and all she as ever really known. Maybe the same is true for Riley?

11!!! What time does he go to bed??

Darwin will sleep out of his crate but he is restless and wakes up early. In his crate he won't wake up until 11 or so, even when we open his crate door.

Tori is the EXACT same way! We too have a wire crate for her in our den. I tried a few times to just put her in and leave the door unhooked, but all she did was roam all night - plopping here, there... going from room to room.... no one got sleep, especially her and she slept all the next day. Now she starts pacing and barks as if to say get out of my room I want to go to sleep - lol

I only crate my dogs when I'm out . but I still have Call's old , too small crate up in the bedroom. she often stays in it, of her own accord, door open, for part of the night.see what I mean :

Add Sedona to the list of crate lovers. All I have to say is "time for bed" and she runs to the crate. It IS a nice cozy spot just for her, right next to "mommy" and "daddy".

Charlie loves her crate, too. Some times when she is sleepy late at night, she just goes in there by herself to go to sleep.
