Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
It is so funny...I love my Doodles they are very much a part of our family. My husband thinks I'm a little crazy but that's ok because what comes around goes around. I told him I was going to tell my DK family about what he did to me tonight soooo here it goes......A little history first though just because when I get to the point of this story you will understand what I mean by my husband is turning into a Doodle addict. Last year I signed up and did the Doodle x-mas card exchange and it was soooo much fun. We couldn't wait to get home and see how many Doodle cards we had gotten in the mail that day and then the next morning our little girl would take them to daycare to show the kids there the pictures of all the doodles and I would take them to work to show them off and my husband would look at them and say they were pretty cool.............................Well now let's fast forward to the present time....last week when the first Doodle card arrived my husband brought the mail in and said look we got a card I wonder who it's from I said oh it's probably a Doodle card because I didn't recognize the address so I asked him to leave it for when our little girl got home so she could open it, I can't even tell you how many times he wanted to open that card. Then the other night he went out to get the mail and we were all in the kitchen waiting for him to come back in and he said we didn't get any cards...and at the same time we were like none not even one.....he hid them under his shirt...picking on us like that saying we didn't get any. Can you believe this!!!! So tonight I got home and there were no cards sitting on the counter so I thought I bet he hid them so I thought I bet he hid them on top of the fridge....so I tried to feel around up there but it's a little tall so I hopped up on the counter so I could get a better look and see if he hid them up there. Do you know what I found?? Absolutely Nothing.....so now I'm thinking to myself I can't believe I actually hopped up on the counter to look on the fridge to see if my husband hid the cards.... I must be crazy( I was actually thinking I was) now for the last 3 days we have gotten no cards so when I said tonight that I thought that was really wierd....DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID...he pulled a stack.... yes I said a STACK of cards out of the Cupboard where I keep my spices he stuck up there earlier to hide them from me so I would think I didn't get any cards again....What was he thinking I know that I can almost expect at least 1 Doodle card in the mailbox everyday til x-mas. HE HAD 10 CARDS UP THERE!!!!!! So now to the husband addicted to Doodle cards,,, our little girl at this point is already in bed asleep so he asked me if I looked at them, I said no because she likes to open them (I cut the top open so she can easily pull them out and not tear them accidently) so I would have to wait til tomorrow and he just couldn't handle it HE PULLED EACH CARD OUT SO HE COULD LOOK AT THEM AND THEN PUT IT BACK IN THE ENVELOPE I of course was looking at them as he pulled them out too but the point here is He hid them from me & then couldn't wait til tomorrow to look at them Sooooo what do you think I know I'm addicted to these loveable dogs and DoodleKisses but I also now believe my husband is also. I can just tell the next couple of weeks it's going to be a race to the mailbox. So thanks to our Doodles and the DoodleKisses Holiday card exchange group for making our holiday a little more interesting. We just love getting the cards.
P.S. Believe it or not last year we got more Doodle cards than family cards and so far this year with todays card count of 10 we have now received 19 Doodle cards vs 0 family cards so far this year.....

When my husband comes in from work he now asks if we got any Doodle cards today, lol....Maybe I should hide them from him, lol, he would freak out, lol, he is now a doodle adict, and he will admit it too!!!!...He adores both our dogs, but there is something about Oliver, the way he looks at us, the stares, the tilting of the head, and the fact that he watches tv (he sits next to Ira on the recliner) with us or really him, and Oliver and hubby hold hand and paw and watch the tv. Oliver doesn't seem to mind that Daddy uses the remote continually(,that makes me nuts, lol) and if Oliver wants to watch something, and dad changes the channel, Oliver will stare at him, and hit him with his paw, Dad then knows to switch it back, lol...these Doodles are just too smart....
So far we have received 25 cards! One day this week we didn't get one single card and my day was ruined :( I am currently waiting for today's mail delivery. It was really funny...this morning my DH and I were bringing in the Christmas tree and Gracie was standing there watching us. All of a sudden she noticed my DK Card Tree and walked over to it and started sniffing all the cards. I swear, they must have Doodle smells on them. I was laughing and thinking I need to keep my camera on the dining room table! I LOVE getting the cards!!! We have had 3 "friend" cards! ha ha...just goes to show how many non Doodle friends I have!
This is hilarious. :-)
We are at 21 Doodle cards and 3 family cards (and the mail hasn't arrived yet)! I now have to figure an alternate place to put my cards...I am out of room. What a wonderful problem to have. My house is really open, I have tons of windows and hardly any wall space.
My DH usually gets the mail, but is kind enough to leave the cards for me to open. He really loves looking at all of the cards and is an absolute Doodle fan.
Uh oh...two Doodle addicts in the same family might be trouble :) So far, my husband still thinks I am crazy when I get excited about getting the mail, but he looks at all the cards too. I just said to him yesterday that it was good we were in the exchange, because we have hardly received any family/friend's cards.
