Hi friends, Whopper here. I overheard my mom telling someone today that my world is about to get rocked...I didn't quite understand what she meant and didn't think it could be that bad since I sometimes play in some cool rocky areas. I decided to go with the flow until I heard the words that so many of you have warned the rest of us about.

I'm getting a little BROTHER!

My mom says he is coming on Friday from Texas and I'm not sure where that is but I guess it doesn't matter at this point. They keep saying the name Simba so now I know they must be talking about him and not the one I saw on TV one day. He is only 14 weeks old so I just know I have a pretty major task coming up. I just don't know where to begin...do I first teach him where to go potty so he doesn't mess up the places I like to sleep or do I teach him what toys are mine and not to be touched...(of course they are ALL mine!)? Wow...so much to think about this week.

So friends...I still don't get what a brother has to do with rocks but I'm going to be a big sister and need all the support I can get. Time for me to go get some sleep because from the sound of things, that may be hard to get pretty soon.

Thanks for all the well wishes again. I will definitely keep everyone updated on my life with Simba...I just wish he would get here already because the anticipation of what's to come is exhausting.

Whopper I'm sure it sounds bad now, but I'm sure you'll learn to love him. Rock your world means that your life will be changed.

Whopper, if your little brother is who I think he is, you are going to fall in love with him along with the rest of your family! He is so cute, he's almost as cute as you are! I know you'll do your best to help him feel at home & be a good doodle! Potty lessons sound like a good place to begin, I bet you have him trained in no time!
In the meantime, rest up, 'cause life is sure going to get exciting at your house! And give your mom a big thank-you kiss for giving Simba such a wonderful new home!

Whopper you are so lucky to be getting a little brother, you will have someone to play with all the time and doods are more fun to play with than humans. Don't worry about having to share your toys, your new little brother is sure to get some new ones and you'll get to play with those too. I bet when your new brother is being trained there will be treats involved so you'll probably get some too. So don't sweat it girl, it's all good.
p.s. I'm a little jealous. Quincy

Samantha - thanks for the advice and offering to help put him in his place.

As far as names go, we spent a lot of time going back and forth with different options. As we looked at more pictures of him as a puppy and some pictures we received of what he should grow up to look like, Simba just fit. We also liked that it doesn't sound anything like Whopper and Simmie makes a cute nickname too. Thanks again for your help the other night and all the recommendations.

What happened to the names we talked about? Simba is perfect for that face! I can't wait to meet him.

Now Whopper - don't worry - I made Charli understand from the 1st minute that all the balls in this house belong to me! She listened so just make sure you make Simba understand that too!! If you need any help in making him understand just tell your Mom to come on over and I will hava little chat with him!!

Clifford - you are so smart! Potty training will be at the top of my list. He better not try and get my tail because I hate when anyone tries to get my tail and having it brushed is the worst. I don't need his slobber causing any matting. More treats does sound fun especially since I haven't felt like eating my meals the last few days.

Thanks for the congratulations and confidence boost everyone.

Banjo - my mom and dad had talked about getting a brother or sister for me but said they were going to wait until next year. Then all of a sudden in a matter of a few hours everything changed. My mom says a special little guy needed a good home and the chance to become a therapy dog and that we are the right home for him. I guess I am pretty lucky even though I'm going to have to share everything.

Whopper I don't have a brother or sister but I've had two fosters and let me tell you they are a royal pain at first! When they are little they chew your ears and pull your tail - you've got to stop that right away. You get in trouble if you play too rough so you've got to take it easy on them. They do grow on you...like a fungus or something but they can be fun to play with. Guinness is right about the treats - twice as many! And for a little while you can do things and he'll get blamed, hehehe. Teach him to potty outside right away - you don't want to smell that - phew! Good luck and know we are here for you.
