I've been nursing all these impatients thru all the bad weather this spring. I just went out and Lucy dug up half of them. She's a mess and half the flowers are gone. DAM. I guess it's time to replant. Oh great. Now she wants to come in the house with those dirty feet. That's why they make puppies so cute or you'd kill them.

Maybe she wants to plant her own garden there so she can bring you flowers.

Not just puppies! They make doodles so cute so you don't kill them!
I planted nine large summersweet bushes along my fence last year for color, fragrance and privacy; I have four complete bushes intact, and two that are half of what they were. Three are gone, dead, destroyed, kaput, thanks to 80 pounds of doodle crashing through them every time someone walks past the yard. I am going to start to keep a ledger of what this dog owes me. He better keep those kisses coming.

You said it! My late yellow lab once tore apart a brand new hydrangea bush that I had spent a ridiculous amount of money for. He was SO PROUD and I was SO MAD! He just looked at me with those big puppy eyes, and I of course just melted. My DH (the green thumb) put what was left of it in water, and I couldn't believe it when that darn thing actually grew back! Turned out to be beautiful. I guess Artie was just pruning it for me!
