[Anne & Mr. Haley]

I have been following with interest about taking your doodle to Lowe's/HomeDepot. Haley has mostly stayed at home when we are going to Lowe's because my DH didn't think he would be allowed inside the store. When he has gone I have to stay in the car with him. : ( A few weeks ago I was talking with a Lowe's employee and asked about dogs coming inside. She said people do it all the time (although, I have never seen a dog in the store when I have been there).
Yesterday there was a need for us to make a trip to town to go to Lowe's so we tested it out:

No, please don't get me any of this stuff!

Haley was beautifully behaved (I knew he would be). When people paid attention to him he did not jump on them but was all "wiggle butt" and "dancing feet". He got lots of complements and pets. It was a good trip and a new diversion for Haley. Now he won't have to stay at home when we go to Lowe's.

Good boy Haley! I take Quincy with me to one building supply store and he is always welcome. I think the fact that he tries to sit on their knee when they crouch down to pet him may have something to do with it. We've been there a lot lately as I've have numerous projects in progress. They actually have treats for the dogs, crappy treats but Quincy didn't mind. :>)

What a good boy! Hope you had fun at your new adventure. I think it's fabulous that these stores (well, most of them) still allow dogs. It's such a great learning experience for the animals.

How handsome is Haley!!????!!!! Love his coat and he looks like a good boy! Now to find out if I can take my Lola to Lowes...I don't shop there much buuuut if I can go shopping with Lola I may start going there more!!

Haley looks like he had a great time!  If our Lowe's allowed dogs (and I don't know one way or the other), I know Libby would think we were tricking her into being groomed and would probably freak out.  Big baby!

Love these pictures of Mr. Haley!  He is such a good ambassador for dog friendly stores.  We have very patient Lowes and Home Depots here--we do nose work classes in these stores, so there's a parade of dogs actually searching in the aisles, sometimes between customers.

How nice for you to shop with Haley. I HATE Home Depot and Lowes because it takes John forever to find what he wants in those stores, however if I came across Mr. Haley I would like it a whole lot better. Glad he was well behaved and made you proud.
