Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Well, Peri and Taquito have been experiencing quite a few changes over the past few months. Taquito can no longer comfortably lie on my belly as my bump is getting quite large! I am over 6 months pregnant now and have less than 3 months to go until we meet our little girl.
We have been working on the nursery. Peri and Taquito enjoy hanging out in there. This morning, I found Peri lying on the rug with her toy, just hanging out. I am glad they feel comfortable in there. Here are some pics...it's a work in progress, but I am so pleased with it so far. The bedding is being made and should be here next month.
We also found this little goldendoodle look-alike at the toy store and I just had to buy it for Charlotte. How cute is this???
And finally, we just traded in DH's car. He had a '99 GS Lexus that he received from his parents for high school graduation (yes, he was a spoiled rotten youngest son). He has driven it for over 13 years! It was a sad day, but the ABS was out and it was time. He took my sedan and I got a total mom mobile. A Volvo Station wagon. Yep, I am a mom now. Heck, I had to have either an SUV or something for the baby + choodle! I am only 5' tall, so this appeals because it does not require a step ladder for me to get into it (or lift the carseat in!). We are getting a luggage rack added to the top for road trips to see the inlaws. Gear + luggage + dogs = need for luggage rack!
Here's a sample of what the car looks like. We got a great deal; it's off a 3-year lease and is in perfect condition. I love it - it's sportier than it looks.
So all in all, dogs have been dealing with a completely new room in the house and now a new car. Peri came down to the basement to check it out last night and jumped right in and gave it the big sniff over. She looked so confused why my old car was in daddy's spot!
I will post again when nursery is complete and my nesting is in a full-on rage!

Oh what a totally exciting time! The nursery already looks wonderful....Charlotte is a lucky little girl to be coming home to such amazing parents, doggies and a very special nursery. The Volvo wagon brought a smile to my face. That's what I always drove when the kids were young....I just felt like it was a really safe "Mom car". I still drive a Volvo....now an SUV for the dogs and grandkids. I feel so lucky that you're sharing all this with us, Allison. I can't wait for Charlotte!
The nursery is just beautiful! I absolutely love the architecture of the room and that rug is just gorgeous. It sounds like the choodle is getting lots of exposure to new things before the really amazing new thing arrives. Good plan!
The nursery looks lovely and the car is good for the menagerie and baby. Keep on nesting.
How exciting! The room is beautiful, and I really love the rug and the doodle look alike :) Congrats on the new car too.
Awww. Everything looks SO good! The room is just perfect and nearly ready for baby Charlotte. I'm so happy for you!
It's oh so PRETTY! LOVE that it isn't typical 'baby' like. Can't wait to see the bedding when it gets put on. And I also adore that huge window...awesome!
I love the nursery you've created!!!! I'm so happy for you! We're in Baby Waiting Mode here....my daughter will be having my 1st grandchild in mid October and I'm nearly beside myself with excitement!
The nursery is truly beautiful, such a perfect place for a new baby. :-) This post makes me happy, and so excited for you!
I was just thinking the same, the nursery looks like a beautifully serene space. I'm pretty old fashioned and didn't know what sex my babies were before they were born (except the last) and never bought any of the gear before hand except the bare essentials. Is Charlotte the baby who is happily inside your tummy right now? If so, she will definitely know her name before she is born! I'm sure that Peri and Taquito will be just fine with her too. Safe driving in that new car too.
I like your nursery. You did a very good job. It looks so calm and peaceful (for now anyway) :)
