Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have been MIA on doodle kisses for months. We made the move from Florida to Arizona and have settled into our cottage in Nebraska. It has been a hectic year. We will be in Nebraska full time for the next two years and then do the 6 months each place until we get to old to drive it. As many of you know, I have COPD and could not do the Florida coast- too humid, but I do miss the ocean.
So here is the new news- Lilly is getting a puppy!! I don't know how many dogs get a puppy for Christmas but ours will. Yes, I was dropped on my head as a child to go though puppyhood again. Lilly was born on 6-2-11 and she has been a dream-well except the first few days when she screamed like a banchee, and the first few months when we looked like bad druggies with marks up and down our arms from biting.
We live in a small village 70 miles from Omaha and Lilly has one friend, a 9 year old westie that will play for 30 seconds before she growls at Lilly to leave her alone. We decided that having another dog would be good for her. I brought it up because Lilly's mom was having another litter and Scott agreed. I kept saying "are you sure? are you sure/ you really want to do this and you are not doing it because I want one? " I gave him a night to realize what he said and then emailed Tera Mueller (Lilly's breeder) the next day.
We found out that not only is Lilly's mom going to have a litter (Lilly is a goldendoodle F1B), there was a labradoodlee that is having a litter the week after Lilly's mom is suppose to deliver. First we wanted another goldendoodle from the same mom and dad because Lilly is just the best girl, but then we talked about it and decided we would get a labradoodle and have a doodle of each.
The new baby will be called Sophie Rose. Since Lilly starts with the letter "L", we wanted the new baby to start with the letter "S" for Scott because we are just that dorky. We have had dogs with the names of Sadie, Sara, and my daughter has a dog named Sally and Sophie ryhmes with Lilly- again the dorky gene.
Puppies are due middle of Dec and we will bring Sophie home around Valentine's Day. Brand new furniture and rugs watch out!

thanks everyone. I will for sure post photos. I hope that this time will be easier. Although I had a wonderfully easy first child and the second one..not so much. too bad that Lilly destroyed her bazillion toys that she had as a baby. How to keep her away from the puppy toys will be a challange.
Shhhhhhh - hope you didn't type this where Lilly could see it! Congratulations.... Be sure to post a picture when they are born.
Congrats on your soon to be addition.
Wow, how exciting....please keep us posted!
