Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As I sat at my desk this morning reading over all of the e-mails we have received this week from so many of Sophie's friends, I was reading one from one of our very own, most popular ladies here on DK. It was at that very moment that someone knocked (very firmly I might ad) on the front door and I about fell off my chair. The reason for the knock is one that will change me forever. The Fed Ex man had left a package at our door. Inside the box was the softest, warmest, most cuddly blanket, covered in photos of our girls! If I had chosen the photos myself, it would have been the very ones that were there. It brought back so many beautiful memories for Mike and I as we stood there going, Oh, there is the Santa one, and the one where Wendy taught them to swim, the one with Emma our little dog trainer, the one where Sophie stole Lucy's frisbee, and on and on and on. I'm guessing I don't have to tell you what happened then. Anyway, I know that she doesn't do it for the recognition, but I just had to share the blanket with all of you and since many of you will already know when you see it, for those newbies on the site I just want to say to Laurie (and Fudge and Vern and DH too) that you made both of us smile (ok and cry too) today! This is something that will truly always be treasured by all three of us. When ever we are feeling sad we can just curl up and relive some of our wonderful memories. From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you. Sheri, Mike and Lucy!

I have cried every day this week on DK and you just made it seven for seven! How wonderfully thoughtful of Laurie. May it wrap you and your family in love and memories of you sweet girls.
This made me cry. What a thoughtful and touching gift.
Wow - now I am crying yet again. Laurie does have a heart as big as the ocean! I love the idea that you can comfort yourself with these beautiful memories.
What a beautiful gift, Laurie is the best!
Two smiles in one week!! I'm so happy for you, Mike and Lucy. May this blanket warm your hearts and bring Sophie close every time you feel sad. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe this act of kindness. Laurie, you are the very best!! You are special to all of us!! God bless you!
What a beautiful gift. DK people are truly special. I never fail to be amazed how a bunch of people who, for the most part, have never met each other can really know and reach out to each other. I've never met you, or had the fortune to meet Sophie, but I followed your story and her fight for health. I cried at work when I saw your sad news and I'm crying again looking at this blog. I'm sending my love to you and your family, with kisses on the nose for Lucy who is probably missing her sister.
OMD! I have not been on DK for a while, and I see now that dear Sophie is in doggie heaven. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure it is an extremely difficult time. I think she was trying to hang in there for that precious 5th birthday with her sister. Then, I see this. What an amazing gift from an amazingly thoughtful person! This is a testiment for DK and how people can become so bonded with the common love of doodles. For the love of doodles. Cherish the time with your sweet Lucy.
This post just made my day! What a wonderful reminder of how we can touch each others' lives with kindness and generosity. Laurie, you are the BEST!
How beautiful. That is a very touching tribute to Sophie and a lovely reminder of wonderful memories to cherish. At least I am home and can sob in private instead of silent tears at my desk at work...I was just reading a note my son posted on Facebook when we lost our lab 3 years ago. Our pets stay with us in spirit forever. How nice that this cozy blanket will wrap you in memories.
