Oh NO - Stuart has a girlfriend!

Like any parents we have to watch as our baby doods grow out of puppyhood and become big doods.  Stuart at 9 months and 65 lbs is no longer a baby.  Now to my alarm he has a stalker girlfriend.  A new family has moved into the neighborhood and they have started coming to "big" dog time, they give "big dog" a whole new meaning!!  It didn't take their Great Dane long to lay claim to my baby Stuart.  She is obsessed with him and although she plays rough and I had to intervene a few time  - he loves her !!!!  Lola is 115 lbs of puppy love and she has an older brother, a Wolf Hound, Conan who weighs in at a slender 140 lbs.  Conan is the rare "intact" dog in our development but he is the most gentle dog I have ever seen - but let me tell you - people and dogs who might want to come into the dog park - they see Conan and just keep on walking past - lol.  He is intimidating!  Most of the other dogs are afraid of Conan but guess who isn't one bit afraid?  Rooney!  He has become the alpha dog of the entire "big dog" time at the park, does he not realize that he is snack sized?  LOL  All 21.5 lbs.  When Lola gets too rough with Stuart - Rooney can run her right off - it is a sight to see.

I agree that Rooney looks larger than 21.5 lbs but trust you me - even with a short cut - he is all hair.  His leg bones are as small as a chickens, you could snap them with your hand - I kid you not.  He is tall though for his weight - his daddy was the same way.

This is like our house when my son returns from university with his Boston Blue Great Dane Girl ZEE. Neely at about 75 pounds walks directly underneath Zee with out ducking! They play so differently as danes like to lean or push over their playmates while doodles like to wrestle. Danes like to run flat out when given the chance too, Neely only does that for so long, but prefers hand to hand combat! I love how the danes pull their heads down into their playmates legs while trying to push them over! I think you have me missing my grand dane!!
