Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Believe it or not, I have been a proud member of Doodle Kisses for about 15 months and have never started a discussion or written a blog. Sure, I have added a comment to several hundred pictures and to many discussions and blogs, but I guess I have been more of a "lurker" than anything. Most of you know SO much more about training and food and all other things "doodley" so I have taken a back seat and have read and learned and just enjoyed being a part of it all. Well...now I have something to share...
I AM FOSTERING A BEAUTIFUL LABRADOODLE and here she is...
i
Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?? This is my first time to be a part of a rescue and, quite honestly, I was scared to death! A local DKer (thanks, Libby!) texted me last Wednesday morning telling me that our county shelter had "tweeted" that a labradoodle had just arrived. I really don't know what it was that caused me to act so quickly, but to make a long story short, I called DRC and by 6:30 that evening, I had Diva (formerly known as Zivah) in my possession! Jeanine with the DRC made the contact with the shelter and she worked hard to make sure that Diva spent the night with me and not in a scary shelter!
It didn't take me long to realize that Diva was NOT a diva, but the sweetest and most laid-back dog I have ever been around. As I'm typing this, she is laying at my feet. I changed her name to Viva -- for new life--and now Jeanine and Jacqui have suggested that we list her as "Leah" so be looking for that name in the postings. She was surrendered by her owner and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. My vet says she is perfectly healthy (all 69 pounds of her!). All I know is that I could not have asked for a more perfect dog to be my first foster! Thanks, Leah, for taking my fear of fostering away...
