One Skunk, One Cat, Two Dogs and No Sleep.

It was 12:05 AM according to the glowing digital display on my clock. Waking by the sound of oneself gagging is no picnic. The burning nose hair falls pretty low on the list of favorite sensations as well, but this is the reality when the neighbor’s cat accidentally runs head-on with a wandering skunk.

The cat scared the skunk.

The skunk, skunked the cat.

The cat jumped the fence.

The dogs saw the cat.

The cat brought the stench.

The stench reached the dogs.

The dogs went berserk.

The cat freaked and froze.

The dogs lost their minds.

The hours crept and crept.

My eyes burned and wept.

Soon the sun came up.

Sleep finally fell on pups.

BUZZ went the alarm.

Now at the end of the day, following a sleepless night, all I can say is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

OK.. I have been there one night when my husband and dog were on a walk and walked right through an erea where a skunk had recently sprayed..

If your dogs stink like skunk.. I can help..You will need a bottle of peroxide or two depending on how many batches you will need to make. One bottle of dawn dish soap and baking soda..

I remembered this from mithbusters skunk eppisode..

We mixed about 1 quart of peroxide and 1 cup of baking soda to 1 gallon of water.

It fizzed then we dipped a sponge into the solution and cpmpletly worked it into the the dogs coat (and hubby used it too). keep it out of the eyes it will burn the eyes.. let it sit on for about 15 minutes then repeat the process. It almost completly got rid of the skunk smell. Any remaining smell we had in the house was mostly from transfer where they had touched things..

At least you turned an unpleasant event into a very cute poem.

And F, good reply in rhyme.
