I LOVE Penny-doodle but I just can't take the whining. Ginger NEVER whines, yelps, cries or any other sounds of disapproval. She barks or makes a plethora of wookie noises while playing….but Penny???? OH....EM.....DEE..... She whines to go outside, she whines to come inside, she whines when I'm not getting dinner to her fast enough..... She whines when we leave the room, SHE WHINES IN HER SLEEP! Annoyed much? Wow, these bells work better than I thought….



So….. we have a little string of bells (as many of you do) hanging on the back door that the girls use to let us know when they need/want to go out. Apparently, I didn’t respond as quickly as little Miss Penny thought I should…The ringing was fierce and seemed much louder than usual from the other room as well. “Hmm” I said to myself, “She must really need to go”. ‘Round the corner I came to fall upon the CUTEST sight I’ve ever seen….…

It was 12:05 AM according to the glowing digital display on my clock. Waking by the sound of oneself gagging is no picnic. The burning nose hair falls pretty low on the list of favorite sensations as well, but this is the reality when the neighbor’s cat accidentally runs head-on with a wandering skunk.

It’s hard to believe that my dad has been gone for 20 years. So many of my memories of him are as clear as if they happened yesterday. Let me tell you just a little bit about what a great man he was.



He was a quiet man, but when he did speak, what he said was either profoundly wise, hilariously funny or he wanted to talk about you.



He was extremely humble. He would graciously accept a compliment but would almost always try to give the credit to someone else.

This  year I've set some pretty lofty goals for myself and my family.  One of them is that we've all agreed that we want to spend even more time outdoors   We are a pretty "outdoorsy" family as it is. We camp , travel and hike when we can but now that we've added two doods to the family, we're ready to kick it up a notch.
