Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I posted a discussion in the photography group a while back and asked about how to get Darwin to do more interesting poses. Well, I posted a picture of him sitting and someone told me I should try and get a shot without his leash.

That can be quite difficult because during the daytime where we live, he has to be on leash whenever we are outdoors. (apartment, no yard) Yet if we take him to a dog park, the chance of getting him to sit for a picture is about.. zero percent. The result is a whole lot of photos with a big black leash in the way.

Well, I mentioned the suggestion to my husband and and he presented me with the new and improved photos. If you notice in the first photo, Darwin's hair is covering his right eye. He fixed that as well. I am a little bit jealous of his skills. I have been using Photoshop for 4 years but I am definitely not as good as he is. He used GIMP to do it... and I I think it's pretty impressive. What do you think?

And this is MY Photoshop. I am definitely not a serious photo-editor... ha ha.

I do this all the time in Photoshop. It is so much fun. You should see what I have done when we do a family photo where there are three boys 5yrs to 1yr and four adults. I always end up blending a combination of at least two, sometimes three photos. I love to take the head out of one picture and put it on the same person in another. There is always someone messing up the photo but when I am done I have one very nice photo where everyone is looking at the camera and happy! With the dogs I remove backgrounds all the time. You are not looking that there are trash cans behind your Doodle when you take it's picture. Or there are people walking behind that you say "out of here" and remove them!!! Leashes are always photoshopped out and so are any "eye winkers" that happen to be on their face...ha ha

Your husband is very talented! Of course, it also helps to have a subject as adorable as Darwin!
